Custom prebuilt ASUS ProArt systems are the ideal way to pick up high end creative workstations and gaming computers without having to bother putting them together yourself. You can get yourself a truly powerful rig with a slick aesthetic that blends in nicely with the rest of the ProArt line, which includes mice, keyboards, and monitors suitable for color-accurate visual workflows.

This particular Powered By ASUS Artisan Ultra computer has one of the best CPU and GPU combinations on the market, plus comes with a fantastic larger case with many great features to help you with your creative workflow. You get Windows 11 Home (64 Bit) as standard with it, plus free UK delivery. Read below for all the details on the various components within it and everything else you need to know.

The PBA Artisan Ultra paired with the ProArt Display 27" PA279CRV, ProArt Display 14" PA147CDV, and ProArt MD300 Mouse in a video editing setup.

The case: PA 602

The ProArt PA 602 E-ATX PC case is a big boy with a lot of premium features. It supports a 420mm radiator along the top of the case should you wish to opt for AIO cooling, or three individual 140mm/120mm fans if you want to go fair-cooling, plus a 450mm horizontally mounted graphics card / 125mm vertically mounted one. You get two extra thick 200mm fans included in the front of the case, plus one 140mm rear fan (we’ll discuss these more below). The case can support up to 8x 2.5” SSDs or 4x 3.5” HDDs on the rear and bottom of the case which all have nicely organised brackets.

Although it’s of a hefty size, the PA 602 comes with two built-in wheels on the rear of the case, which makes moving it around a lot easier. This is a feature we have seen implemented on rare occasions but here it’s done quite tastefully: the wheels look fairly hidden and if you stand the case flat they won’t move, you have to lean the case backward to engage them.

Other nice features include an integrated, tool-less graphics card slot clamp for easy mounting, a PWM fan hub that supports up to 6 case fans, and a compartment on the top-rear of the case which can house the foldable WIFI antenna, allowing you to stow it away when not needed for a sleek, minimalist look. There’s also a pretty mad InfraRed dust detection feature, which gives you a prompt when the dust build-up reaches a point where it’s affecting airflow.

The I/O On the top of the case is also interesting: you get a power lock latch which you can engage to prevent accidentally turning off your PC (useful if you’re performing creative work and frequently plugging devices in and out of the top sockets). There’s also a PWM control that easily allows you to switch the case fans between max speed and auto settings. The extensive USB-A ports (2x USB 2.0 and 2x USB 3.0) are very welcome, as is the 20Gbps USB Type-C port.

The open front grill maximises air intake and the angular air deflectors in front of the PSU shroud and next to the motherboard plate help channel it effectively towards the exhaust fan at the rear of the case.

Finally the whole thing has a nice, refined aesthetic common across the ProArt line.

The case fans

The two front-mounted 200 x 28mm intake fans are both extra large in diameter and extra thick, allowing for greatly enhanced cooling. Of a ProArt design, they yield a very high airflow whilst being nice and quiet. The rear of the case has a single 140mm exhaust fan mounted as standard which also performs well.

These are all the fans that come with the case but you can add three additional fans to the top as stated, if you’re not opting for a water cooled build. These can be 120mm or 140mm and the rear fan can also be replaced with a 120mm one should you wish.

The motherboard: ProArt X670E-Creator WIFI

The ASUS ProArt X670E-Creator is a top-notch motherboard for creatives who need maximum connectivity. It comes with a whopping 11 USB ports on the rear IO, including 2x 40Gbps USB 4 Type-C ports that also act as DisplayPort outputs, a 20Gbps USB-C port, 7x USB 3.2 Gen 1 sockets, plus a single USB 2.0. There’s also a 10GbE and a 2.5GBE ethernet port, suitable for LAN or broadband connections, plus a HDMI output and a DisplayPort input socket, and three 3.5mm audio ports covering line in, line out, and mic in.

The main chassis of the motherboard comes with 2x PCIe 5.0 and 4x M.2 sockets and has a nice, elegant design with ProArt details in black with gold and silver details.

The GPU: ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER

The RTX 4080 Super is one of the most powerful cards out there and will make mince meet of any game on max settings at 4K resolution, plus any high-end rendering workload. The ProArt AIB variant performs similarly to the Founder’s Edition of the card, though comes with an aesthetic that matches the rest of the build.

The CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D

The processor that comes with the PBA Artisan Ultra is the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, which is the most powerful gaming processor currently available, thanks to its 3D-Vache technology. It’s also a hugely powerful CPU when it comes to running workstation programmes and creative software, so is the ideal pick for this build.

The CPU cooler

The CPU cooler our particular model came with is the PCS Frostflow 200 Series High Performance CPU Cooler, rated up to 250W, though you can always update this to a more heavy duty model should you wish on the PC Specialist site by DeepCool or Corsair.

The Memory

Corsair are one of our favourite RAM manufacturers, and their Vengeance line is a staple of most of our builds. With 64GB of the latest DDR5 RAM (from 2x 32GB sticks), clocking at speeds of 5600MHz, you shouldn’t have any problem with even the most demanding applications, and will definitely be able to open as many tabs in your browser as you like!

The SSD

Solidigm are one of the most high-end SSD manufacturers, and this P44 PRO Gen model is a great premium storage solution. It not only offers a top-notch read speed (7,000 MBps) and write speed (6,500 MBps) but is actually quite energy efficient in spite of this. 2TB is ample storage for the needs of most gamers, but if you want more space for additional storage for creative uses, you can increase this further with the extensive expansion potential as mentioned.

The PSU

The power supply is an 850W Gold rated model from Corsair, our favourite PSU manufacturer. This is sufficient for this particular build, particularly given that the 40-series GPU are actually pretty energy efficient considering the power increase over the previous gen, although once again you can always upgrade it if you want a bit more juice or room for future upgrades.

The warranty

If you pick up this build from PC Specialist, you get a 3 year standard warranty covering 6 months collect & return, 1 year of parts warranty, and 3 years of labour. This can be upgraded further for a relatively reasonable price increase to silver, gold, or platinum coverage. Have a read on the PC Specialist site for more details.

Refract Gaming PC guide 2024: seven magnificent pre-built rigs from Overclockers UK SPONSORED PIECE

Overclockers UK are one of our favourite retailers of computer hardware, and they do a great range of pre-built gaming PCs in the form of their Refract brand. Besides the quality of the machines themselves and their pretty reasonable pricing, they’re particularly good because of the 3 year warranty and free upgrade service that they offer (you can read more on this below).

We also like that the Refract range covers a great number of different price points, and for each model they give example performance benchmarks of what FPS you can expect in-game across a range of titles, plus what sort of use-case the device would be suited for (4K AAA gaming or 1080p MOBA titles, for example).

Every Refract PC comes with Windows 11 Home (64-bit) OS as standard, and the whole prebuilt line was updated just before the new year with the latest in Nvidia GPUs and Ryzen processors, so let’s have a look at what’s on offer!

The best ultra high end gaming PC for Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man & Flight Simulator at 4K (VR Ready)

If you want to play the latest AAA titles at 4K resolution with no restrictions, then the Ultraviolet is the PC for you. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 is the most powerful graphics card money can buy, bar none, and the ridiculously high 24GB VRAM it packs is particularly useful when gaming at the highest resolution possible. Similarly, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D processor is the best out there for gaming thanks to its 3D V-Cache technology, and comfortably in the top five of all time for workstation tasks as well.

The Phanteks Eclipse case offers plenty of room for airflow and features three front-mounted intake fans, plus comes fitted with a 360mm outtake radiator attached to the CPU liquid cooling pump. Besides this, you get plenty of RAM (32GB DDR5) and SSD storage (2TB) for all your gaming and productivity needs, plus WiFi support and an RGB strip set. Have a read on the Overclockers UK site to see some of their benchmarking with this machine in different games.

A massively powerful 4K/1440p gaming rig for Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us, Alan Wake 2, Flight Sim & more! (VR Ready)

Whilst not quite as powerful as our top pick when it comes to gaming at those higher resolutions, the Refract Indigo will still blow the doors off anything you throw at it, both in 4K and 1440p. Just to give you an idea, the RTX 4080 Super GPU that it comes with outperforms the previous-gen RTX 3090 (previously the go-to 4K gaming graphics card) by around 20% on average at the highest resolution. Once again the Ryzen 9 7900X3D leverages the benefits of AMD’s 3D V-cache technology to give you a superbly high-end gaming experience, and is only slightly behind the CPU in our top pick in terms of raw power. Have a read of the product page for some benchmarking info on what FPS this PC can churn out in different titles.

The Kolink Citadel Mesh comes with three intake fans on the front, one outtake fan on the rear, and is again equipped with an AIO liquid cooler with 360mm radiator to cool the CPU. You get 32GB of DDR5 RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, WiFi support on the motherboard, and a digital RGB LED strip.

A top-notch prebuilt PC for playing Starfield, The Last of Us & Resident Evil 4 Remake (and more) at 1440p (VR Ready)

If you’re looking for a gaming PC that offers all the power you need for 1440p gaming, then the Azure gaming PC in the Refract line gives terrific performance and value for money. The RTX 4070 Ti graphics card in conjunction with the Ryzen 9 7800X3D (the best price/performance high-end gaming CPU currently available) is a formidable combination, and will get you great FPS at this resolution.

Once again, you get 32GB of 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, 1TB of storage, plus WiFi included as well as that all-important RGB LED strip! Cooling comes by way of an AIO liquid cooler with 360mm radiator, three intake fans, and one outtake fan in the rear of the Kolink Observatory Z Mesh case.

A nicely priced 1440p & 1080p gaming PC for Red Dead Redemption 2, Starfield, and Baldur’s Gate 3 on max settings (VR Ready)

Gaming at 1440p resolution can be a relatively affordable prospect with the Refract gaming Celeste. This rig will get you solid performance at QHD on various games thanks to its RTX 4070 GPU and Ryzen 7 7700X combo, particularly if you leverage the latest DLSS 3.0 tech that the Nvidia graphics card supports to generate additional frames.

You once again get an AIO cooling system, though this time the radiator is found on the front of the Kolink Unity Lateral case, with three other fans attached to the ceiling and another on the rear. 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, 1TB of M.2 SSD storage, onboard motherboard WiFi support, plus an RGB strip round things up nicely.

A budget friendly 1440p & 1080p gaming PC for playing Elden Ring, Forza Horizon 5 & Warzone 2

The Jade Refract gaming PC with its RTX 4060 Ti graphics card and Ryzen 7 7700 processor is a great value option for those who want to play at 1440p resolution, but want to save their pennies. You won’t necessarily get fantastic FPS on the highest settings on the latest AAA titles, but if you don’t mind turning the graphics down a bit then it should handle them no problem. In addition you’ll get great performance on slightly older titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Forza Horizon 5, Elden Ring and COD Warzone II at this resolution, even with the settings turned up.

The Kolink Citadel Glass SE comes with two front fans included, one rear fan, plus CPU air cooling. You also get 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, 1TB SSD storage, plus Wi-Fi support included with the B650 motherboard.

A solid 1080p gaming rig that won’t break the bank: ideal for Warzone 2, WOW, Fortnite & Apex Legends

The Refract Gaming Amber is the ideal prebuilt PC if you’re looking for an affordable 1080p gaming rig. For titles like COD: Warzone II, World of Warcraft, DOTA 2, Fortnite and Apex Legends you’ll get great FPS performance, thanks to its Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card, plus AMD Ryzen 5 7500F combo.

Besides this you get 16GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, 1TB of SSD storage, and onboard Wi-Fi. The Kolink Citadel Mesh RGB Micro-ATX Case comes with two front fans included, one rear fan, plus an air cooler for the CPU.

An entry-level PC for CS2, Valorant, Fortnite, Apex Legends and more (with onboard graphics)

Not everyone needs a powerful PC to play the games they love. If all you enjoy playing are titles like CS2, Valorant, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Rocket League and you don’t need to run them on the highest settings then it’s a waste of money to splash out on a high-end rig, in fact, you don’t even need a dedicated graphics card.

The Refract Gaming Crimson comes with one of the latest-gen AMD Ryzen 7 8700G APU: essentially a processor that has powerful integrated graphics, specifically (in this case) the Radeon 780M. Depending on the game, this iGPU can sometimes outperform older graphics cards like the GTX 1060 and GTX 1660. Have a look at the product page to see what sort of FPS performance you can get across a range of titles.

Besides this you get 32GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM, 250GB of SSD storage, 1TB of HDD storage, plus a 300Mbps Wireless N PCIe Adapter.

Three year warranty on Refract PCs from Overclockers UK

So confident are Overclockers UK in the standard of their products that each prebuilt PC comes with a 3 year ‘Collect & Return’ warranty as standard, although it’s important to note that this is for UK customers only. This warranty covers both replacement parts for any found faulty in the machine (assuming these parts are available) plus labour costs, just make sure you keep the box to send it back in! Providing you live on the UK mainland, all postage will be covered by Overclockers UK.

The warranty also cover a free upgrade service: obviously you’ll need to pay for the components themselves but the labour costs for the installation, plus the postage (providing you meet the aforementioned requirements) will be covered by Overclockers UK.

The typical (but not guaranteed) turnaround time for Overclockers UK to repair and ship back your PC after they have received it is 72 hours, though this is subject to variation.

Best computer for 3D modeling and rendering 2024 – our top picks Looking for the best computer for 3D modeling and rendering, then you've come to the right place. With a strong requirement for the process to use up a lot of resources, you're going to need some good hardware to work the best on it. In that case, you want to get the top pick for the job.

Now that you've decided to get a prebuilt PC tailored to the needs of 3D modeling, you might be feeling dread instead of excitement due to all the questions that are tied to the purchase. What kind of CPU do you need? How much RAM? What graphics card? We know that the process of picking the right PC to invest your money in can be just as daunting as it is thrilling. For that reason, we've decided to create this guide, keeping it up to date with the latest choices you can be sure to find the right PC for your needs. The current selections are the Skytech Pro Eclipse, CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR, and Skytech Azure.

If you don't have time to read the full article, we have chosen the Skytech Pro Eclipse Gaming PC as the best PC for 3D modeling. This is thanks to its Core i9-13900k, well known for its powerful single and multi-core performance. And the RTX 4090, which is the best of the best when it comes to rendering and pushing pixels. Perfect for your 3D modeling endeavors.

Best PC for 3D modeling and rendering

The best PC for 3D modeling is one that has a powerful CPU and GPU combo as these are the components that do all the heavy lifting in the rendering workload. It's up to you to figure out how heavy your rendering workloads will be, and balance that against your budget.

3D modeling is the process of creating a virtual three-dimensional model of a physical object. This technique is used in many different industries — so much so that these days, the vast majority of our favorite games or movies would not exist without the help of 3D modeling. It is also used in many scientific projects and helps pave the way to breakthroughs and that requires some of the best computers for 3D modeling and rendering. If you have an interest in it, you probably know that it's among the most demanding things your computer is ever going to face. While it can be attempted on machines that weren't specifically built for it, a lot of them will struggle under such a heavy stress test.

Skytech Pro Eclipse

At the top of the list, as the best prebuilt for 3D modeling and rendering is the Skytech Pro Eclipse gaming PC. With the top selection of hardware available to users, there's nothing that can beat it but that comes with a much higher price it asks for.

For its GPU, it comes with the top spec of the latest generation from Nvidia with the RTX 4090. Unless you opt for enterprise cards, this is the most powerful option to go for. It brings with it high efficiency and really fast rendering times. That is something that Nvidia is the best option for over AMD. With 16,384 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X memory with over 1TB/s bandwidth, there is nothing quite like it for rendering and modeling without hitches.

As for the CPU, it has the Intel Core i9 13900K which is the best option to get the most out of the best GPU it is paired with. It also comes with 32GB of DDR5 RAM, which is the latest generation option that comes with a lot of speed and potential to power the processor in the PC.

Where you might find some drawbacks to the prebuilt is that it comes with 1TB of storage. Of course, it is an NVMe for fast loading and responsiveness, however, it might fill up quite quickly, especially with large files. Although you should be able to expand on it pretty easily even if at this price point you'd expect more. Where the machine also does well is with the cooling as the CPU has a 420mm AIO to keep it in line and provide plenty of airflow into the prebuilt and keep the performance going.

CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR

If you're after something a couple of tiers down for a lower budget, the CyberpowerPC Gamer XTreme combines new-gen hardware with some more value options.

For its graphics card, it has an RTX 4070 bringing with it the same efficiency and power as the Ada series, it doesn't cost the same as the higher tier options and is one of the better value options. Although it will cut back on some of the performance offered, the power of the architecture still brings with it and it can still work efficiently through any rendering and modeling.

It also provides great processing power with a top-tier i9-13900KF bringing the top-tier option. Combined with DDR5 memory the latest and fastest option to go for. With 32GB of it, you also get a lot of RAM to support what the processor has to do especially when working on big files and models.

It does limit your storage capacity to just the one NVMe with 1TB of space, although you will be able to expand on it, it's still a great starting point for capacity. For the cooling, it gives you a 240mm AIO for the CPU, and with three extra fans, it should keep your performance up without throttling.

Skytech Azure Gaming PC

Now when it comes to a budget option, there is still some potential for a good 3D modeling and rendering machine. The Skytech Azure uses older-generation hardware but comes at a lower price for it.

As it utilizes the RTX 3060 Ti, it does offer one of the best value options of the Ampere series. One of the more popular cards, it is great for 1440p or 1080p performance. But it also has the potential for 3D rendering and modeling as it still comes with the efficiency and power of Nvidia's CUDA cores.

As for the processor, it comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, that offers up good potential for the GPU and entire prebuilt. It also comes with 16GB of DDR4, which means there is a lower potential over the newest DDR5 but does save on cost. That can be seen with the lower storage option it also opts for. It gives you just one TB NVMe SSD that gives you speed and power but limits your PC's capacity in the long term.

Which components matter for 3D modeling?

As mentioned above, 3D modeling ranks high amongst some of the most taxing things your PC can do. The most popular software takes quite a bit of power to run, and then your computer is going to be even more strained under the pressure of heavy projects.

As 3D modeling relies heavily on the CPU, your processor is going to be the most important part of the whole build. However, contrary to popular belief, you don't need to aim for something with a lot of cores. Instead, consider picking a model with a powerful CPU that has a high clock speed and can also be overclocked.

The second thing for you to look at is the graphics card. The heavier the workload, the better the GPU — that's the general rule. It's also good to aim for at least 8GB of memory in a graphics card, although this is not a lot these days. As you are likely to do GPU rendering and not just CPU rendering, your computer needs to be strong on both fronts. Some of the other things to consider include:

RAM — while you can make do with 16GB, it won't hurt to have more, and 32GB might be more comfortable, especially with multitasking and working on large projects.Storage — most modern PCs come with an SSD, and we highly recommend one. SSDs help your computer run much faster and save you time in the long run.Cooling — as 3D modeling is a constant stress test of sorts, basic cooling is almost never good enough. We took that into consideration and only included models that offer superb cooling capabilities.

Not everyone knows that 3D modeling is actually split into two types: CPU rendering, which makes use of the processor, and GPU rendering, which prioritizes the graphics card. The major difference lies in which part of your PC is going to be used the most.

The vast majority of 3D software in this day and age specializes in CPU rendering, so we stand by the opinion that your processor will play a crucial role in the overall performance of your PC. CPU rendering can handle more complex tasks and has more memory to use, so this is usually a good thing.

Before you settle on a given PC, make sure to check what type of rendering you're going to mostly be doing. However, the desktops on our list all have good CPUs and graphics cards, so they will suffice regardless of the 3D modeling type.

FAQs

Final word

The best PC for 3D modeling is one with a strong CPU and GPU combo, because of this, we have recommended the Skytech Pro Eclipse Gaming PC. If you need to do intense 3D modeling, then this is the PC for you. It's equipped with the i9-13900K and the RTX 4090. this combination of hardware makes it ideal for heavy rendering tasks.

When it comes to a great value gaming PC then the Skytech Shiva is the place to look. Combining some of the best CPU and GPU combo at the lower tiers, it provides great performance even on the older gene platform.

For the brains in the machine, you find an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. Even though it might be on the AM4 platform, it provides all the performance you need at that level. Especially looking at 1080p and 1440p that can be expected of this system. With a clock of 3.7GHz, and boosting up to 4.6GHz it is a speedy little chip.

For the graphics card, you do get the RTX 3060 Ti which is certainly one the best value choices even to do this day. You can expect over 100FPS at 1080p with a 1440p performance of over 70 on average. Although that may vary with models and components. But all in all a great choice of GPU for those after a good value.

As for the rest, it's kind of the usual setup, with both 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. It provides fast and responsive performance out of your system and games even if it might not be too much these days. It still can get you pretty far and seems a necessity these days.

If you are after a value-focused gaming PC but want a prebuilt with modern, current-gen parts, you may want to check out the best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PCs.

Prebuilt gaming PC vs custom build

It is no secret, that here at WePC we always recommend you build your gaming PC but we understand that not everyone has the time. Building your gaming PC is great because you can control everything that goes into it and, more importantly, it tends to offer much better value.

You may think you’ve seen a bargain but the reality is that prebuilt computers often come with a markup (around $100-$400 depending on the build price, it goes up as the price of the build does) to cover the physical building and software of the machine. Just to put it into perspective, the markup of a prebuilt is essentially the same price as an entire component.

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $1000 in 2024 A common price point for a lot of budding gamers to save up is around $1000. The best prebuilt gaming PC for under $1000, in some cases, features better graphics cards than those under $800 but not always. A gaming PC under 1000 may have similar spec GPUs but often feature stronger CPUs, more storage, and better RAM.

$1000 is a lot of money and is an ideal amount for those looking at playing games in high settings, with some capable of 1440p performance. We would all love a premium $2000 prebuilt gaming PC but these affordable prebuilt options below might surprise you. We update the page with the latest and top choices, currently, we recommend the ABS Stratos Aqua, Skytech Shiva, and Skytech Gaming Blaze 3.0.

If you don't have time to read the full article, we recommend the CyberPowerPC Gamer Master Gaming PC (R5 7600, RTX 4060 8GB) as the best-prebuilt PC under $1000, this is thanks to its affordable price to performance beats, the Ryzen 7 7600X, and the very capable RTX 4060. The CPU and GPU combo is the most important consideration when looking for the best-prebuilt gaming PC under $1000, as those are the parts that will be doing all the heavy lifting.

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $1000

The best-prebuilt gaming PC for under $1000 should suit your needs perfectly. The most notable consideration you need to make is to figure out what you want out of your PC. You should then choose a PC that suits what you need it for the closest. If you want to play simulation games, you might be looking for a PC with a better CPU, if not, you might want to prioritize the GPU, for broader performance coverage.

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $1000 - CyberPowerPC Gamer Master Gaming PC

At the top of our selection as the best-prebuilt PC under $1000, we have the CyberPowerPC gamer master. It brings the latest generation of hardware to your machine and keeps it under that $1k mark ensuring you get the most value and support down the line. For the main event, it has the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB, both provide a great budget option and lead to the great gaming PC here.

Featuring 16 GB of DDR5 it also offers up the latest to get you going for the long run if needed. Plus with a 500 GB NVMe SSD, you have a great boot drive to waste no time in loading up your system. But you may find you need to expand it over time. Be it with a slower HDD or another SSD.

The PC case does have a few limitations, with a solid front panel, it will get limited airflow for cooling. Along with a limited amount of USB ports on the front with two type A and a couple of jacks, these may limit you a bit when setting up your computer. But the motherboard will have its own that will have plenty more behind it.

Runner-up gaming PC under $1000 - SkyTech Gaming Archangel PC

The next best choice is the shiny Skytech Gaming Archangel, with plenty of RGB lighting and RGB fans, it still brings plenty of performance with it. Although it opted for the older choice of the i7-12700F, it still holds up to this day as the LGA 1700 platform is still alive. Plus with the latest 40 series with the 60 model, it gives you the newest generation with plenty of features, even with the addition of DLSS 3 capabilities.

However, it does back on the memory though, with 16GB of DDR4 which does limit your potential for the long term as it does limit your capabilities without the newer gen that is available. But you will be able to upgrade for cheaper in that case at least. Which is less likely for your storage. You do get a 1000 GB SSD, a fast NVMe for your boot, and fit all your apps on it. There is plenty of cooling available too with an AIO and mesh front panel, there is plenty going through to keep things from thermal throttling and making sure performance is up there.

Best AMD gaming PC under $1000 - Skytech Gaming Blaze 3.0 Black

A rarer find in many prebuilt, if you're looking for an AMD-based PC the Skytech Gaming Blaze 3.0 offers up a great combo for a whole system.

Built with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and Radeon RX 6600 XT, it provides a great pick of gaming performance at the level. The GPU is capable of achieving over 100 FPS on average at 1080p and over 80 at 1440p in some benchmarks so it may vary. It does combine well with the CPU that can unlock its full potential with Smart Access Memory and make sure you get the most out of both.

That is also the case for the RAM and storage, which have become standard but offer up a good opportunity for performance. As with 16GB, you are set up for modern gaming. The 1TB NVMe gives you a fast boot device with plenty of storage to fit all your games that will load much quicker. The mesh front panel and fans also provide plenty of cooling for your system although the stock CPU cooler might limit its potential.

Best value prebuilt gaming PC under $1000 - MSI Codex R Gaming Desktop

Another option for great value is the MSI Codex R, coming in with the usual suspect of the RTX 4060 alongside the Intel i5-3400F. Providing you with a great gaming performance when it comes to 1440p capabilities and the latest features. Being from MSI it comes with a solid promise of quality and features.

This is where the DDR5 memory also comes in, providing the latest option for fast computing and giving you a choice to expand in the future. You also get a strong boot drive to start, as it gets an NVMe SSD with a 1TB capacity, so you can have a fast and vast storage option. There is a plentiful choice for expansion as well as with 2.5G ethernet connection, HDMI, and DisplayPort but those will vary depending on the GPU itself.

You also get a complimentary mouse and gaming keyboard so you can be ready to plug and play right away. Cooling is a bit mixed in the machine as well as it does feature a mesh front but uses a small air cooler which can limit the ability for it to go above and beyond its possibilities.

Best budget gaming PC under $1000 - IPASON Gaming PC

For those after a machine with a lower price point, with under $900, it does save you a bit more money. However, that also cuts down on its performance from what the higher options can do.

As for its graphics card, it goes for a tier lower with the RTX 3060. That does mean it is a lower tier of performance and you're more limited to 1080p performance as the card averages around 80 FPS at that tier. With it being under 60 at 1440p, it would require a bit of tinkering to make it more playable at that level. For its CPU it has the i5 12500F, that middle-of-the-level processor that unlocks the machine overall.

For the RAM it does have 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4, which is a more standard option for this machine even if it's a bit slow. The storage option is a 1TB NVMe as well as a standard option that provides a good starting point for all your work and installs.

Is it better to build your $1000 gaming PC, or buy a $1000 prebuilt?

We always recommend that you build your own computer here at WePC and that is for one simple reason – value.  It is no secret that you can squeeze in better hardware for your cash when building your own system, with the markup on prebuilt computers usually costing the same amount as an entire component ($100-$300).

Performance

While the performance of these $1000 gaming PCs is solid, when building your own you could in theory include a better CPU or GPU into your computer without spending more. This means you could get even better performance for your hard-earned cash, get better in-game results, and future-proof your investment for longer.

Convenience

The main selling point behind a prebuilt gaming PC is it saves you the hassle. We understand that not everyone knows how to build a computer and may not even have the time to learn this new skill, so the convenience of a prebuilt makes a lot of sense. Of course, there are many more benefits to buying a prebuilt gaming PC from manufacturers, obviously, it takes the stresses away from finding all the compatible components, while also preventing damage to said components when the time comes to build it.

With one of these gaming PCs, you are going to be able to send it back to the manufacturer if anything goes wrong. Furthermore, if you feel you need an upgrade, suppliers will often do this for you or at least insist you send it to them for an upgrade. Manufacturers will also dish out a warranty, usually covering parts and labor for around a year but some companies offer impressive warranties and you can always spend extra on insurance, giving you a lengthy/ lifetime warranty.

These computers are from the biggest manufacturers around the world and aren’t just packaged nicely for you either, they normally stress test the system to ensure the components are working before shipping and that it performs as it should. You will also receive your system with software, usually with Windows and drivers pre-installed, so you can simply plug it in and start downloading games.

You can also check out our budget gaming PC page for prebuilt gaming PCs of various budgets. We will update this page with the latest choices but for those in a rush and want a quick look our top picks are the STGAubron Gaming PC, STGAubron RX 580, and Skytech Gaming Mini PC X1.

If you don't have time to read the full article, we have selected the STGAubron Gaming PC (RTX 2060) as the best-prebuilt gaming PC. This is all thanks to the affordable performance it brings with its RTX 2060 and Core i5-4590 pairing. It might not be the most powerful PC in the world, but it will play AAA titles in 1080p. At $500, it's not uncommon to see PCs with just an APU in them, however, we have managed to find multiple with a dedicated GPU, skyrocketing your value for money.

Best cheap prebuilt gaming PC under $500

The best cheap prebuilt PC under $500 should suit your needs. It should not be the best looking, or the best performing, but one that does exactly what you need it to do. One of the first things you need to do before getting the best cheap $500 prebuilt is to decide your use case. because we don't know exactly what you need, we have outlined the PCs that give you the best value for money.

Finding a well-made prebuilt gaming PC under $500 does require some digging around. Luckily for you though, our team of enthusiasts have made sure you can make your budget stretch.

STGAubron Gaming PC (RTX 2060)

In the market for a smaller-sized PC, then STGAubron has you covered with a smaller case. It does also feature older hardware though, with the Quad Core i5-4590 and an RTX 2060. This is a comparatively newer and stronger option (on a budget) that will allow you a great choice of GPU, although the CPU option might hold you back when it comes to performance instead. It's a small sacrifice to make when you have such a value GPU pushing the pixels.

For its memory and storage, you also get a good speed and capacity. As for the RAM, you have 16GB which will improve the option for playing modern games with higher texture counts. This kind of build is great for competitive games like Valorant, Apex Legends, Fortnite or Counter-Strike. Along with an SSD that gives you fast and responsive performance in general, although it is a more limited capacity these days.

STGAubron Gaming Desktop PC (RX 580)

There are some prebuilt PCs that will feature discrete graphics cards inside of them. However, you may find some old hardware scattered around, and that includes the STGAubron Gaming Desktop PC with the AMD Radeon RX 580 in it. As in it you also find the Intel Quad Core i7-4770, these are from 2017 and 2013 respectively at end-of-life. So these might not be the strongest or newest options but the GPU should still give you a good alternative over onboard graphics.

The PC also comes with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. This means that it is capable of fast storage and loading a lot of information especially when it comes to the graphics and information of a game in which the 16GB of memory becomes standard. The SSD also makes it seem like a much faster experience, although it is on the smaller side of capacity, it is easy to expand with big storage options.

You also get the inclusion of peripherals to try and make up the value of the older hardware included. But you also get a variety of connectivity with the inclusion of WiFi and Bluetooth onboard. Along with plenty of RGB to light up your whole setup across the board.

Skytech Gaming Mini PC X1 (AMD Ryzen 5600G)

Here's an interesting configuration. Another option is this mini gaming PC from the well-respected prebuilt brand Skytech. This features the AMD Ryzen 5 5600G APU, a pretty modern processor compared to some other options here. It will be much harder to upgrade your rig though given its compact design and lack of a dedicated graphics card to save space. However, the 5600G is a decent performer for lightweight 1080p gaming, similar to dedicated GPUs like the GT 1030 or RX 550.

It also features 16GB of RAM, which is a good capacity these days for larger running games. Despite only having 500GB of storage space, this is stored on a super fast NVMe drive. As such, your speeds will be great and provide a responsive experience, though we'd suggest some external storage as well if you want to install plenty of games.

HP Gaming PC (Intel i5, RTX 2060) Renewed

At this price point, you can also find some refurbished systems. Although they might be used they still provide a good entryway into the space, especially under $500, so this HP Gaming system is a good start. Looks great too with RGB lighting on the case.

It does come with an Intel Quad i5 but it doesn't suggest the actual model, which could limit what you have and could be on the lower end. It is paired up with an RTX 2060 which is a very budget gaming GPU although it isn't a top spec, it is good for entry-level 1080p gaming.

However, it still comes with 16GB of memory which keeps it modern and capable of running modern software and keeping it relevant. This is the case for the storage as well as you get both SSD and HDD, with 2.5TB combined, much more than the 1TB or less we see in many budget prebuilt. This means you get fast and responsive usage but with a lot of space for all your games.

Empowered PC Continuum Micro Gaming Desktop

This Empowered PC Continuum Micro gaming desktop offers an AMD Ryzen experience for its processing. Featuring a Ryzen 3 5300G, it provides Radeon Graphics in a capable processor.

The graphics are based on Vega 6 and as you might expect from an integrated solution, it does provide just HD support. At 1080p you can expect good performance for the lower requirement games, not anything AAA. 16GB RAM should provide a lot more performance for the onboard graphics and general processing, we'd avoid 8GB RAM these days.

Where it does provide some good opportunity is a 256GB NVMe that will make it feel much faster in boot speed and using applications. However, that is the only storage device, so you're likely to fill it up with an OS and just a handful of big games. This means it will be best to expand it much like being able to add in a GPU.

Are prebuilt PCs upgradable?

Technically, yes, but sometimes no. It depends on where you get your prebuilt PC. Some major PC manufacturers, such as HP and ASUS (not exclusively these brands) use proprietary components such as the motherboard or PSU to prevent you from upgrading your system. The idea is that you'll come back and buy another prebuilt when you need more power.

Under normal circumstances, you can upgrade a standard prebuilt, as most 3rd party manufacturers use standard components that can be used with other parts, but there comes a point of diminishing returns. If you’re going to try and upgrade your prebuilt, you have to know exactly which parts you want to swap out, and you have to know both how and why. While the motherboard socket is going to be a limiting factor, especially with Intel.

At this point, you have to ask yourself why you’ve gone for a prebuild in the first place. You’re dealing with someone else’s design concept, and whatever quality level their components are. You can boost various elements of that design concept by carefully replacing some elements. But be sure you understand what it is about the prebuild that you’re spending money on, and what you want to keep, compared to a scratch-build.

Cheap gaming PC alternatives

We would advise you to aim for a prebuilt gaming PC no lower than $800 for a reasonable experience. Everything below will need upgrading sooner rather than later and nobody enjoys lowering settings or resolution when playing.

For those on the fence, with limited funds for the foreseeable future, there are a few alternatives to buying a cheap gaming PC. Firstly, Valves Steam Deck is a seriously good option for the under $500 price point. This tiny machine can run all your favorite games and if you love the odd FPS title, you can hook the Steam Deck up to a PC and use a mouse and keyboard with it.

Not convinced? Well, you could always look into the PS5 and Xbox Series X. These gaming systems are priced at under $500 and can play games in 4K.

FAQs

Final word

Finding the best prebuilt gaming PC under $500 is quite challenging but every option we have included offers great value. If you can afford more, then we would recommend you go for an $800 prebuilt gaming PC, with these offering excellent graphics and performance in 1080p, allowing you to play games in high detail with decent FPS results.

Regardless, you are getting a gaming PC here that will be able to play your favorite esports titles with ease. You may have to tweak settings to get your desired frame rate on the more demanding titles, it certainly won't be the best graphics but it will be super for low-end options. When deciding on one be sure to check the power supply, storage, and motherboard so it is the right fit overall for you. We usually recommend building your PC, but some people have neither the knowledge nor the time, if that is the case, a prebuilt PC might be the best for you.

Best RTX 4080 Super prebuilt guide: buy your 4080 Super gaming PC now! We bring you the best RTX 4080 Super prebuilt PC models currently available. The RTX 4080 Super release time has just passed, and already we're seeing myriad prebuilt PCs hit the shelves (if you're in the UK, Scan in particular has a great many listed or Best Buy for our Canadian readers).

We're here to make your buying experience that much easier and help you decide which of these options is the best one to go for, from an overall performance and price perspective. See further down this page for a breakdown of what you should consider when looking to make a purchase like this, or just look immediately below for our selections and reviews of why you should buy these particular models.

The best RTX 4080 Super prebuilt PC models available

Below is the cream of the crop when it comes to RTX 4080 Super prebuilt gaming PCs. We'll be keeping this list updated with the latest products as they're released, but these selections will likely always remain excellent buys - well worth your money if you're looking to purchase now!

Best RTX 4080 Super gaming PC

At the top of the range, we have the Arsenal PC GT502, featuring the RTX 4080 Super alongside an Intel i9-14900KF. Combining two top-tier components it provides a top-of-the-class gaming PC without holding anything back. That is especially true considering the RAM you get with it as it gets 64GB of DDR5, providing the most for the CPU with its speed and making sure it can achieve everything it needs.

Now for the storage, it also does not hold out, providing you with a 2TB NVMe SSD alongside a 2TB HDD. Gives you both a fast boot and plenty of capacity for all your games and files. For its case, it has a TUF GT502 providing large but great cooling capacity with its liquid and fan combination.

Second best RTX 4080 Super gaming PC

Next on the list is the MSI Aegis R, coming from a main company it gets you a quality build and support when needed. Pairing it up with the 14900F gets a great partner to provide you with a great gaming and processing machine. That comes too from the memory setup with the DDR5 capabilities it has with 64GB that is fast and plentiful for anything you might need it for.

The CPU is also liquid-cooled to ensure it does not thermal throttle and limit what you your machine can do over time. Along with two terabytes of storage capacity on an NVMe M.2 that provides a great choice of drive to get the most out of your machine. However, the case used will limit how much the case can be cooled as it has a limited front panel without many holes limiting it to smaller areas.

Best budget RTX 4080 Super gaming PC

The last choice brings down the cost of an RTX 4080 Super gaming PC to a more minimal price. Dropping down to an i7-14700KF it still provides a great processing option in the machine. It also halves the memory capacity of the PC down to 32GB, still DDR5 but any large processes and work you may want to do might become limited.

It also utilizes 2TB of NVMe storage, which can be expanded down the line but it's certainly a good boot option for your PC. The case also opts for a nicer aesthetic, but it does keep things open with a back opening that allows all the fans to bring in the fresh air and keep the temps down for all your compnentes.

The benefits and drawbacks of an RTX 4080 Super prebuilt PC vs self-build

The main reason why you should opt for an RTX 4080 Super prebuilt PC as opposed to building your own is convenience: specifically it's less time consuming - although if you're a seasoned PC builder you may be able to put one together pretty quickly, you'll still have to spend time ordering all the components - and perhaps most crucially there's a lot less to think about. You won't need to worry about potential compatibility issues with a self-build PC, nor of damaging the components when you're putting it together - it's essentially just a plug and play (after you've installed Windows and the necessary drivers of course).

The drawbacks are that you obviously don't get to select all the components that go into your build, so there's less customization and personalization, plus self-built PCs tend to be more cost-effective, although if you end up buying the most high-end components this may end up not being the case). If you are considering putting together your own, do check out our guides for the various components, specifically: best RTX 4080 Super GPU, best CPU for RTX 4080 Super, best PSU for RTX 4080 Super, best case, motherboard, and yes, even best monitor!

Can a 4080 Super PC play games at 4K?

An RTX 4080 Super PC is an excellent choice for playing games at 4K. It might not quite match up to an RTX 4090 PC at this resolution, given the lower amount of VRAM in the graphics card (16GB vs the 24GB in the 4090), however, you'll still be able to enjoy most titles at 4K resolution on the higher graphical settings in AAA titles.

Will there be an RTX 4080 Ti Super prebuilt PC?

Given the standard RTX 4080 Ti was never released, it's unlikely we'll see an RTX 4080 Ti Super graphics card released any time soon. It could be that towards the end of 2024 or in early 2025 we see such a card come out, along with the accompanying PC builds, though we may instead see the first Nvidia 50-series released at this time.

For its storage, it does utilize an M.2 NVMe with 2TB of capacity, which gives you plenty of fast storage to manage your games and files without a need for expansion for a while. As for the case, there is plenty of cooling available from it with a front mesh filled with case fans to fit them.

Best Intel RTX 4070 Ti Super prebuilt gaming PC

If you're more of a fan of Intel, then this PC featuring a 14th Gen CPU could be the one for you. The iBuyPower Y40 white features the i7-14700KF alongside the 4070 Ti Super. That way you can enjoy another top choice combination for your gaming machine and get the most out of it.

It also features 32GB of DDR5 running at 5600MHz giving you a fast and responsive performance, which is paired with a 2TB NVMe SSD too. Giving you a great range of capacity and performance across the board. That is helped by the case as well since it uses the Y40, a smaller version of the Y60 which we reviewed well and it comes with a great riser to look at your GPU.

Best budget RTX 4070 Ti gaming PC

Lastly, trying to keep costs down we have the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR gaming PC. It still provides a great performance with its components but cuts down the cost a bit to save you a few hundred over the other options. It still comes with an i7 CPU to match the Nvidia GPU. It comes with an AIO CPU cooler giving you a great capacity to ensure it performs to its full potential.

It also combines 32GB of DDR5 with a 2TB PCIe NVMe, giving you a fast choice for getting the most out of your entire system without needing an upgrade straight away. For its case, it does have a more unique look, with a half-on-half front panel with its design. But cooling is managed by the side intake instead. It fills out its case with plenty of fans as well ensuring that you're not missing out on performance by overheating components.

Should you buy an RTX 4070 Ti Super prebuilt PC or build your own?

Building your own computer, whether it contains an RTX 4070 Ti Super or not, has two main advantages: firstly, you tend to get better value for money overall if you buy all the components yourself, and secondly, you get complete control over every single aspect of what goes into your PC. That being said, it's a bit of an investment of time in building a new PC if it's been a while since your last build, or if you've never built one at all. Plus there's always the risk of damaging some of your components if you don't know what you're doing. This being the case, an RTX 4070 Ti Super prebuilt PC is the option that makes the most sense to the average consumer who wants a stress-free life.

Can a 4070 Ti Super game at 4K?

An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super can indeed game at 4K, given its relatively sizable VRAM of 16GB, however, it's not really suitable for doing so at the highest settings on the latest AAA games if you want to enjoy a high FPS. If you're going to do this, we'd instead recommend an RTX 3090, RTX 4080, or one of the new RTX 4080 Super models.

Final Word

With any luck, you will shortly be coming away with the best RTX 4070 Ti Super prebuilt for your needs and budget. Best RTX 4070 Super prebuilt gaming PC 2024 If you're looking for the best RTX 4070 Super prebuilt PC to game on, then look no further. You don't have to build out a whole system yourself to enjoy the top performance and the RTX 4070 Super is a great card for 1440p gaming. If you're after an Nvidia Ada upgrade then you won't go far wrong with this GPU. You may wish to look at the cards individually in our best RTX 4070 Super guide, or alternatively save some time and get it in a ready-to-go prebuilt gaming PC.

It's early days yet and, as with any fresh 40 series release, it might be some time before more choices are available. We will be updating this page as time goes on with alternative picks, but the below are all definitely worth your hard earned cash. Right now our top picks feature the Skytech Omega, iBuyPower Y40, and CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme.

The best RTX 4070 Super prebuilt PC

The best option for pure gaming, with a fantastic AMD CPU

At the top of the list is the Skytech Omega gaming PC. It combines the RTX 4070 Super with the best CPU for gaming right now. It brings the latest of AMD's X3D technology to the AM5 platform for great value. Smashing through benchmarks and elevating what it can do higher, it tops the carts. That also means you get the latest DDR5 RAM with incredibly fast transfer rates that keep your processor running at its best, especially with 32GB which gives you plenty of multi-tasking capabilities.

For the processor, you also get an AIO to keep the temperatures under wraps, and the best CPU cooler for the job as it goes for the bigger 360mm radiator. The PC case also provides a good cooling solution, as it doesn't impede the airflow with its mesh front, top, and back, and plenty of fans to keep all that heat out.

Then for the storage, you get the fastest choice of an NVMe SSD. Although it may be limited to 1TB it still provides a good starting point for your system, especially as a boot device that you can easily add to later on. All in all, you get a lot from the system, with a performance level to last some years.

The best Intel option - ideal for both gaming and productivity workflows

The next choice and the best Intel RTX 4070 Super gaming PC is the iBuyPower Y40. To match the GPU it offers up the Intel Core i7 14700F, the 14th Gen Intel CPU comes with processing to match what the 70 Super can achieve and get the most out of it, and cutting back on price with an F model. This is where the memory setup comes in strong too, also going for 32GB of DDR5 memory, you can get plenty of speed and performance from the platform, even if it comes a bit more expensive than a DDR4 solution would.

The storage also utilizes fast NVMe options but goes for a larger capacity of 2TB. That means it will be quite a bit longer before you run out of space for all your games while providing a fast and elegant solution for it. As for the case, it also opts for a nice-looking option, the Hyte Y40 is a smaller version of the Y60 that we enjoyed so much. Cutting down the size and price it keeps the aesthetic and look with a good airflow and is another contender for the best case around.

An overclockable Intel CPU & RTX 4070 Super prebuilt from CyberPowerPC

As for the last option, the CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme is another great choice for the best RTX 4070 Super gaming PC. It also opts for an Intel processor balancing performance and price with the Intel Core i7-14700KF. That does allow it to be overclocked though with the K SKU and Z790 platform you can get even more out of it. It also has the same memory solution as before, it has 32GB of DDR5 that allows for fast processing and keeps the CPU at its best.

Keeping the storage fast and big is also a feature of the CyberPowerPC, with a 2TB NVMe it is a good solution for keeping your games installed and files on hand. Where it differs from the iBuyPower is the case, using a more generic unbranded solution to keep costs down but still with similar aesthetics. As it has glass surrounding the sides while keeping airflow open on the back and top. This is where you- can also find the radiator of the AIO which seems to be a standard cooling solution that works so well.

Can an RTX 4070 Super beat a 4070 Ti?

As shown in more detail in our RTX 4070 Super vs 4070 Ti page, the newer RTX 4070 Super does not quite match up to the RTX 4070 Ti in terms of pure processing power and in-game performance, it is however a substantially better value card, and the one we’d pick overall. The roughly 5-8% performance drop you get when using the RTX 4070 Super is pretty easy to stomach, given that it’s $200 cheaper when looking at the MSRP.

RTX 4070 Super prebuilt gaming PC vs building your own

Typically, building your own PC provides better value than buying a prebuilt gaming rig, although the price you end up paying depends on what you put in it - if you choose premium components (from the RAM to the case fans to the SSD) it can obviously end up costing you more.

The main advantage of course is that you can customize your rig fully to meet your needs in terms of performance and also your aesthetic preferences. You do however sacrifice a lot of convenience compared to just buying a pre-built gaming PC, particularly if you’ve never built a PC before. If you’re up for the challenge though, do take a gander at our best CPU for RTX 4070 Super guide, as well as the best PSU, best case, and best monitor for RTX 4070 Super guides.

Best mini gaming PC – our top small computers Looking for a small but mighty new computer then the best mini gaming PC is what you should be after. With a lot of punch for the size you can still get plenty of choices and some surprising performance from it. Saving you space does sometimes come at the cost of performance but we'll try to balance between the two.

Getting a great prebuilt PC can make your life all the different. With a small chassis to match you can keep it to a small form factor, in the likes of an mATX case or smaller even. Even now as the handheld sector is growing it provides an even bigger opportunity for you to get portable. We update the list regularly to bring you the latest choices, and the top of the list for the pick are the Skytech Shiva, MINISFORUM Venus UM790, and the ASUS ROG Ally.

Best Mini Gaming PC

Skytech Shiva Gaming PC

At the top of the list is the Skytech Shiva gaming PC, combining both older gen and newer hardware. You get a good combination of performance and value. Coming with the Ryzen 7 5700X it has great performance even though it is on an ended platform of AM4. But that provides a good price for performance.

That is supported with 16GB DDR4 running 3000MHz, which is a bit slow and low capacity but it still provides a good performance for the day as it is recommended for most games. As for its storage, it uses 1TB of NVMe for fast options although it might get used up rather quickly.

For the big GPU powering it the RTX 4070 is featured in the Skytech PC. It has plenty of performance across the board. It provides a great framerate in any title plus the inclusion of DLSS 3 through its frame generation, boosting it even higher. The case is a bit restrictive, with a 240mm AIO at the front it provides good cooling for the CPU.

MINISFORUM Venus UM790

In the next spot is the Minisforum Venus, which provides a small desktop-sized PC to go for. More in line with the size of HTPCs it brings the new generation of hardware for great computation and integrated graphics. Featuring the AMD Ryzen 7940HS, it provides a new generation and platform for a small case. Based on the AM5 platform it brings a new level of Radeon generation for improved performance even without a dedicated GPU.

It's supported by 32GB of DDR5 memory running at 5600MHz, it does bring a lot of speed for all its processing work. It also comes on the newer platform for plenty of features and support down the line. It then comes with 1TB of NVMe SSD that provides fast and responsive usage. Although it may run out quickly, and need expansion soon after.

ASUS ROG Ally

On the other hand, you could opt for a handheld like the ASUS ROG Ally. That brings the new platform as well with the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme with AMD RDNA 3 GPU of integrated graphics. Coming in with a 16GB LPDDR5 6400MT/s it has plenty of fast processing for you to enjoy.

It stood up against the Steam Deck but provided some upgrades with a 7" display running at 1080p and at a 120Hz refresh rate. It provides you a good enjoyment on the go and does not require a dock. But it has that option so you can use it as a PC when docked and with peripherals.

Are mini PCs any good?

Mini PCs can be good, but they are unlikely to match up to what full builds can do, some of them can offer a good alternative depending on how small you're going. The likes of a MATX build can bring the same kind of performance as a full build. With a smaller motherboard and space, you might be restricted to what GPU can fit and the amount of cooling, you might not get the top tier in there but you certainly can still get a lot of performance like in the mid-tier.

However, smaller PCs are much more limited. Most of them can't fit dedicated GPUs inside. Relying on integrated graphics of the CPU things have improved but they won't match up, limiting what you can do on them. Modern CPUs can provide a good start but nothing extreme and not above 1080p. But with handhelds on the rise, you can use those for portable and docked gaming.

Does a mini PC overheat?

Depending on your components there are possibilities of your mini PC overheating. If you have full components in a MATX build, if you don't have enough cooling, the internal temp can reach too high and cause throttling and issues for your build. however, the likes of handhelds and dedicated small PCs are unlikely to overheat as they have thought out dedicated cooling. They shouldn't see many issues with their limited size and component features.

Final word

There you have a look at some of the best mini gaming PCs. There are a lot more restrictions when looking at this size but you can always find something to suit your needs. Building your own small computer would offer you a lot more choice but especially with handhelds so popular you can be a lot more flexible and savvy.

Best prebuilt for AC Mirage – our top PCs for Assassin’s Creed Mirage In yet another title in the popular franchise, Assassin's Creed is moving back to the Middle East after Valhalla who saw adventure as a Viking in England. With that, you want to have a good PC for the job and an enjoyable experience. With that, we see what it takes to run the game and find the best prebuilt for the AC Mirage.

AC Mirage releases on October 5th it comes nearly three years after the previous game. Supposedly the game moves back towards storytelling and stealth gameplay, rather than role playing of more recent installations of the franchise. So if you're after the best prebuilt for the job, we look at what it takes and some of the options you should have a look at.

Best prebuilts for AC Mirage at a glance

AC Mirage PC requirements

Now when it comes to finding a good PC for the job you need to know what the system requirements for AC Mirage in fact are. Being a AAA game, we would think the needs would be quite demanding, with the likes of Starfield or Cyberpunk really punishing, but unlike those, Assassin's Creed keeps it simple and rather a relief these days.

At a minimum for a machine capable of running 1080p at 30FPS, you need something with at least a Ryzen 5 1600 CPU or Intel Core i7-4790K, along with 8GB memory running dual-channel. For a GPU you just need an RX 570, Intel Arc A380, GTX 1060, with only 40GB of storage (and an SSD is recommended).

Whilst for a 1080p 60FPS experience that is upped slightly. As the CPU needs are a Ryzen 5 3600 or Intel Core i7-8700K with 16GB of RAM. The graphics card recommendations are the RX 5600 XT, Intel Arc A750, or GTX 1660 Ti, while the storage remains the same.

These are rather simple needs and good use of those with the less popular Intel Arc options. You certainly don't need the best CPU or GPU for AC Mirage but if you're after higher resolutions that might be a good consideration.

Best prebuilts for AC Mirage

At the top of the selection, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme sits tall. Featuring an RTX 4080, it has a lot of power behind it. With a great capability across different resolutions, the gaming PC gives you a great solution to running anything and any resolution.

For the CPU, you get an i7-13700KF, which gives you a good performance and value for the middle of the pack. This also pairs well with the DDR5 platform it has to offer, bringing you the latest in speeds and performance for your memory.

As for storage, it has fast NVMe and 2TB of it. Gives you plenty of fast space for your games and apps that will load quickly and give you a responsive solution overall. Although the solid front glass panel may limit its airflow and cooling capacity.

For a great value choice, we look back to the previous generation of hardware. Providing a good budget solution for a great gaming PC. The Skytech Blaze 3 gives you that machine to still have a great performance for the cost although it might not be the newest, it still has a lot to offer.

With an RTX 3060 Ti inside of it, you get a capable machine of 1080p or 1440p gaming. A popular choice of GPU it does bring you a powerful gaming machine on a good budget. As it is also paired up with an i7 11700F, that does limit your upgradeability but with the middle of its generation, it still has the performance behind it.

It comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory, a standard these days even if it a falling behind these days it still gets the job done, plus it's quite easy to upgrade. As for the storage solution, you also get an NVMe SSD although it is a lower capacity so you might need to upgrade it down the line if required.

Now for a choice of PC sitting somewhere in the middle of a good performance to price the Empowered PC Continuum is a great choice. Combining the older and new-gen hardware you get a good value for your PC.

It starts with an i7-10700F that provides a great gaming performance without the price tag of something new and you're not losing too much with it. The RTX 4070 provides all you might need from the Ada series. With frame generation giving you DLSS 3 and the card being one of the best choices in the range.

You get plenty when it comes to memory and storage too. With 32GB of DDR4, you have a lot of capacity for running multiple applications at once and any other work you might want to do. That is also the case for the storage, with a fast 512GB M.2 you have a fast and responsive primary drive. But with a 2TB HDD, you have a lot of capacity to take advantage of even if it's on the slower side.

Best prebuilt for AC Mirage final word

There you have some of the best prebuilts for AC Mirage. Giving you an all in one solution to getting started with the game, it is a good time to buy a great gaming machine. If a PC isn't the solution for you the best laptop for AC Mirage might be instead.

Stormforce prebuilt gaming PCs – Powered By ASUS *SPONSORED POST*

Stormforce and ASUS have joined forces, creating the next generation of prebuilt gaming PCs. The partnership brings a wide variety of options catering to all budgets between £600 and £5000. So if you are looking at getting your hands on a prebuilt rather than building your own, you might want to check out the Stormforce PBA systems, with 30-series and 40-series Nvidia GPUs at the helm. Stormforce is a UK-based custom PC manufacturer, and has everything you gamers are going to need, regardless if you’re a casual indie lover, or a full time gaming enthusiast.

What is Powered By ASUS?

Powered by ASUS (often shortened by fans to PBA) is a series and certification that extends ASUS’ commitment to bringing the best build quality possible and best components available into the prebuilt PC market. ASUS has teamed up with several partners, one of which being Stormforce, to bring high-quality systems to the masses, systems that go through rigorous performance and quality testing before being sent out to customers.

Powered by ASUS is the seal of approval that ensures the overall capabilities of the systems advertised, which basically means, if it states “high-end gaming machine” then it is. If it’s stated that a system is for 1080p gaming, then it needs to meet that specification, and handle the latest AAA titles. PBA systems are taking this stance to ensure customers leave with a gaming PC that meets all of their desires.

Stormforce PBAs

Why is Stormforce a key partner? Well, ASUS is one of the world's leading motherboard manufacturers, with over 10 years of experience producing high-quality motherboards for all sockets, systems and chips. It’s no secret that ASUS’ motherboards, graphics cards, accessories and components are award-winning products, and this is reflected by the fact that over 550 million ASUS motherboard units have been sold in the last decade alone. Stormforce is one of the UK’s leading providers of pre-built systems, meeting a wide variety of needs, from high-end gaming machines to pro-grade workstations. Exclusively building with components from market-leading brands to ensure speed, compatibility and reliability for their customers.

ASUS also helps lead the way when it comes to GPU cooling too. The current ASUS graphics cards are built on years of technological and engineering experience and feature new innovations such as Axial-tech fan designs and IP5X dust resistance. This partnership with Stormforce works extremely well, ASUS graphics cards are both highly reliable and capable GPUs, and Powered by ASUS Stormforce builds come with a three-year collect, repair and return warranty as well. Stormforce customers are well-supported and will no-doubt have piece-of-mind when it comes to their new system. They just need to decide which prebuilt meets their budget and needs, and the rest is sorted.

Your Guide to the Stormforce PBA range

If you want, you can find the full list of systems available, and pick one for your budget at the Stormforce, Powered by ASUS short list. We’ve chosen and tested 3 picks from each of the main Stormforce PBA prebuilt ranges below, predominantly for their gaming performance:

Stormforce Onyx Gaming PCs - Powered by ASUS

The budget friendly mid-tier Oynx range offers gamers an excellent experience without spending the big bucks. These PCs are ideal for gaming in 1080p or 1440p resolutions, and are best suited for esports titles. For example, the Onyx 5908 prebuilt featuring the ASUS DUAL RTX 3060Ti 8GB V2 GPU would net you well over an average of 300 FPS in CSGO (1080p@ low to med settings). You can also expect to hit an average of 80+FPS when playing the likes of Call of Duty as well (1440p High DLSS quality). Combine that with an ample base spec, including Intel Core i5, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of superfast NVMe M.2 SSD storage and it means you won’t need to upgrade any time soon.

Stormforce Crystal Gaming PCs - Powered by ASUS

The Crystal range features industry leading components and delivers high-performance with ease. These are built for enthusiasts that seek powerful CPUs and GPUs to drive top in-game results at high resolutions. We recommend checking out the Crystal 6233 with the ASUS TUF RTX 4080 GPU. It can deliver an average of around 50 FPS when playing Cyberpunk 2077 maxed out in 4K. You can also expect FPS results around 90-100 when playing Red Dead Redemption 2 maxed out in 4K (with DLSS 3 enabled).

Stormforce Prism - Powered By ASUS

The Stormforce Prism range is there for gamers that want the very best PC they can get their hands on. This range features the latest and greatest components available, and allows you to experience games in maxed out settings on the high possible resolutions. With systems featuring the ASUS TUF RTX 4090 GPU, you can expect an average of around 60+ in Hogwarts Legacy at 4K.

Stormforce Crystal 6332 Performance

To give you a brief idea of how well these perform, we’ve taken a quick look at the Stormforce Crystal 6332 below. The system features both an ASUS GPU and motherboard combo as its base, and comes with exceptional build quality throughout, with no loose components, or cables, and the system booted straight to desktop without any problems whatsoever.

Cable management and overall build quality, is impeccable, and it’s clear that the system has been diligently checked, and tested before shipping.

Specifications

CPU: Intel Core i5-13400FGraphics: ASUS Dual RTX 4060TiMotherboard: ASUS Prime B960-PlusRAM: 16GBStorage: 1TB M.2 NVME SSD

We ran the Stormforce Crystal gaming PC, which features the ASUS Dual RTX 4060 Ti GPU, through a few popular game titles to see how it faired. In CS:GO, with maxed out settings we saw an average of around 290FPS, with the CPU and GPU only hitting around 52 degrees under load.

Jumping into Cyberpunk 2077, admittedly a far more taxing game graphically, we saw the system hit an average of around 97 FPS while maxed out which is pretty impressive. The temps were higher this time around understandably, given the additional load placed on the GPU, but still relatively low by any modern hardware’s standard.

Lastly, we tested Shadow of the Tomb Raider. While utilizing the highest graphics settings available, we saw an average of 130 FPS at 1440p.

Every Stormforce PBA system we have received has been impeccably well built, and operates exactly as we’d expect for a system of this caliber. They arrived undamaged and delivered their promised performance. If you are looking to support your new ASUS powered system with some high quality peripherals or a new gaming monitor, you should take a look at our ultimate esports setup. These additional items go a long way when it comes to getting the best possible gaming experience you can from your rig.

Stormforce PBA: 4080 vs 4060Ti vs 4070Ti

Best gaming PC for Apex Legends 2024 Apex Legends is now regarded as one of the stalwarts of the Battle Royal format, offering gamers a more fast-paced, arcade-style shooter, with incredible movement mechanics. The game isn't overly demanding, however, due to the number of players and size of maps, it is best to get a half-decent gaming PC when trying to run Apex Legends.

What PC you buy depends on the resolution of the monitor you would like to use, with 1080p being far less demanding than 4K. Of course, Apex Legends is treated more like an Esport than an immersive title, so the majority of gamers will likely be jumping into Apex servers with a 1080p or 1440p monitor. With that in mind, we have selected the best prebuilt gaming PC for Apex Legends below.

Best gaming PC for Apex Legends

As mentioned, you aren't going to need a crazy-expensive gaming PC to run Apex Legends but before making your decision do you play any other titles? If the answer is yes, but you mostly play other esports titles such as CSGO and Valorant, then don't worry, all of these systems will work wonders. However, if you would like to play the latest releases in maxed-out settings then you may want to consider the high-end gaming PC below.

But for those looking at the best all-around option that doesn't break the bank, the Skytech Shiva is the gaming PC to consider. Featuring an RTX 3060 Ti, it is one of the more popular GPUs of its generation. Providing one of the better value options from the Ampere range it gives a great tier option, especially at the center of this PC.

That also fits the other components too, with the CPU being the Ryzen 5 5600X, the lowest choice in the range from AMD. Still powerful it gives you a good value alongside the GPU. That is also true for the storage and RAM, with plenty of space and speed from both of them giving you a good experience across the board. Where you can expect to get high framerates at 1080p and 1440p, and even push 4K on Apex with this machine.

Best all in gaming PC for Apex Legends

As for those looking for an all-in-one prebuilt PC, then you can look at the iBuyPower Pro Gaming PC for the best combo of all the processes you might throw at it. In the computer you get the RTX 4070, a good value Ada card that brings the new efficiency and power of the newest gen of hardware but without the extortionate price tag. It is capable of achieving good performance across the board even pushing into 4k. With a high framerate for Apex, you can be sure to have that competitive advantage especially paired with a high refresh rate monitor.

It also comes with an Intel i7-13700KF that matches the mid-tier level of the rest of the system. You get a load of memory and storage to go along with it as well. With the 32GB of DDR5 5200, it is a much faster and more responsive experience for your CPU even if it comes with a newer more expensive cost. For the SSD you also get a 2TB fast NVMe SSD for shorter loading times and a lot of space to fit it all in.

Best budget gaming PC for Apex Legends

For those after a simple and easy machine that doesn't cost you everything, you can get the Skytech Chronos Mini. Since Apex doesn't require any new hardware you don't need anything much more but this prebuilt will bring you up to date. As it features the RTX 3050 you get access to the RTX family without the high price tag with a focus on 1080p gaming but all the features and efficiencies of the architecture.

It also comes with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 for a cheap but efficient gaming CPU. It also is supported by 16GB of DDR4 memory and a 500GB NVMe for quick and responsive loading times and applications. You might not be able to fit all the games on it though as it's not the biggest capacity and might fill up. You also do get on an older platform with a limited upgrade path but it has all the value available.

Best gaming PC for Minecraft 2023 Minecraft is quite an accessible game to play on PC, however, with advancements such as RTX (ray tracing) and some of the multiplayer/ big world elements, it can be tricky to find the best gaming PC for Minecraft.

The requirements to run Minecraft on PC vary drastically from barely needing anything to requiring an RTX GPU for ray tracing. The good news here is that if you plan on playing other games too, you can walk away with a great gaming PC that covered all your needs.

Best gaming PC to run Minecraft

While it would be easy to suggest going for an RTX 4080 prebuilt gaming PC, it is going to be out of budget for most. If you want to play games in general at 4K then you want to aim for an RTX 4070 and above, however, you will find the below option a suitable compromise to that.

With an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU and the RTX 3060 Ti, you will be able to run Minecraft like a dream in 1080p and 1440p. This will also handle ray tracing (RTX). Furthermore, the overall specs of this build are considered excellent for gaming and can even produce some results in 4K (with tweaked settings).

Best budget gaming PC for Minecraft

For those looking just to jump in a server, or pick up a gaming PC for a little one, you don't need to splash out. This is especially the case if you do not wish to play Minecraft with Ray Tracing switched on.

The above selection is a budget champion. You could go for a gaming PC that is considered even closer to entry-level, however, we feel going for this as a minimum is far enough and would give you a greater system for longer. Additional benefits are a widely accepted great CPU, albeit an older generation, and you would still get some RTX capabilities from the RTX 3050 GPU.

Best all-in gaming PC for Minecraft

Now when it comes to getting a lot more performance and being able to run it all if that's ray tracing, shaders, and any mods you plan on using. All of that can be pretty intensive on the hardware you're running, which means you want to have a good combination of components to run it well.

The CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme provides just that. With an RTX 4070, you get the latest generation of graphics cards from Nvidia. The Ada card provides a lot of efficiency and power to power through all the graphics. It is also paired with an i7-13700KF which means the combination should give you a lot of fast processing and graphics.

That is further supported by the 32GB of DDR5 and a 1TB NVMe which all should provide you with fast and responsive gameplay and usage. It also has a 2TB HDD meaning you shouldn't have to worry about running out of space anytime soon with all your Minecraft modding or any other games you choose to play.

Do you need a powerful PC to play Minecraft?

As many know, Minecraft is not a graphically-intensive title but not every old computer can run it. You are still going to want to aim for the budget PC above to ensure you have a great experience. We mentioned that you can go lower if you wanted to but just be wary of entry-level/ recommended specs as in-game experiences can vary.

Unlocking the features that the Ada and 13th Gen series CPU bring to the table.

The GPU thrives in all resolutions although 4K isn't going to be much faster than a likey 60 FPS. Otherwise, the computer also brings 32GB of DDR5 for the latest and fastest implementation of memory to assist and unlock what the processor can achieve, which in turn works well with the GPU. For its storage, it combines fast and slow with both an NVMe and HDD so you get a lot of capacity with varying load times that can suit your needs.

Best all in PC for Assetto Corsa Competizione

Now when you don't want anything holding you and your experience back, there is the best prebuilt around to go for. As the PC brings an RTX 4090 inside of it, the top selection of the Ada range right now, and as the top GPU it has all the performance you may ever want even at 4K with multiple monitors or even VR.

Which itself is supported by 32GB of DDR5 memory, fast and capacious to allow any processing and multitasking to occur at once. That also has the benefits from the storage included as you get a 1TB NVMe, keeping your OS and loading times responsive and short.

As it features the RTX 3050 graphics card you get the lowest entry to the RTX family in the Ampere range and a great way to get efficient and powerful CUDA cores into your system. Although you will get the most out of it only at a 1080p resolution, especially with the low-choice of VRAM and the rest of the components combined.

It comes with an i3 12100F and 16GB of DDR4, which is still more than you could expect out of a budget PC even with a lower CPU and no onboard video. The prebuilt still comes with an NVMe giving you a fast and responsive operation, although you are limited to just 500GB, which might need expanding down the line.

Best HTPC 2024 – our top Home Theatre PCs Sometimes the average user would just like a nice small form factor prebuilt PC to run in the lounge and not interfere with how the room looks, enter the HTPC. A home theatre PC isn't that different from a smart TV however it is a lot more powerful and gives you much more flexibility with what you can achieve in your home theatre.

These mini PCs can be mounted to TVs and gaming monitors and can be kept completely hidden whilst giving you extra entertainment options in your home.

An HTPC will allow you to browse the web, watch movies, and in some cases even play some pretty impressive game titles too! It is no secret that over the last few years, HTPCs have become smaller in size and price, making them a more attractive option.

HTPCs vary in terms of performance and cost so it is important to know what your needs may be. A higher-end HTPC will handle your day-to-day tasks and entertainment with no issues. These types of HTPCs will also feature a powerful CPU with integrated graphics that can handle a range of games with fast storage solutions to back it up.

Lower-end HTPCs may not feature the most powerful CPUs, with many sometimes struggling with games and even multitasking. Despite this, less powerful HTPCs can still handle 4K viewings and with the low-cost factoring in make a great little entertainment unit for the home.

Best HTPC systems

Intel NUC 13 Pro

The Intel NUC is one the best and most well-known choices for an HTPC, and even though Intel itself said it will stop producing them it will be taken over by ASUS. Even still NUC 13 is a great choice in the latest generation offering.

With a 13th Gen i7-1360P, you get the latest iteration of mobile CPU that Intel has to offer. With great efficiency and split performance cores, it has a lot to offer especially with Iris Xe graphics.

You get plenty in its interface as well with:

Two Thunderbolt 4Three USB 3.2One USB 2.0Two HDMI 2.1One 2.5 Gbps ethernetOne 3.5mm headphone jack

It also comes with 16GB of DDR4 for a lot of processing power. The speed is also from the WiFI 6E with Bluetooth and Thunderbolt 4 for all-in-one fast connections. It also has 512GB of NVMe SSD for responsiveness and fast loading, all in a small package with not much power needed to run.

Apple Mac mini M2 (2023)

Apple gives you a good option with the Mac mini. Featuring the latest silicon from Apple, it has the M2 processor in it with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. Running its own ecosystem does mean you're a bit limited in what it supports especially with the limited games like from Steam.

The design is sleek and stylish like all Apple devices with limited standout features showcased and the computer is rather compact for the package.

In terms of ports you get:

Two Thunderbolt 4 (Type C)Two USB AOne HDMIOn headphone jackOne Gigabit ethernet

The Mac Mini is limited in terms of memory it has onboard though, with only 8GB unified across the board. Which can mean limited overall ability with CPU and GPU utilization.

Although the rest of the setup offers very fast connectivity, with Thunderbolt connections and Gigabit you will have a lot of fast peripherals and internet. It also comes with a 256GB NVMe for quick and responsive usage.

AWOW NYi3 Mini PC

The NYi3 Mini PC from AWOW offers something quite surprising for such a small computer. The power is good enough to keep your home theatre running smoothly with ample memory and a fast storage solution. This unexpectedly can run certain games (albeit in low graphics) and makes light work of general computing tasks.

The design is pretty plain but seeing as it’s designed to be tucked away it isn’t exactly a bad thing. Indeed the AWOW NYi3 Mini PC is the smallest HTPC on this list.

Looking at the connectivity department, you have the following:

2 x USB 2 ports2 x HDMI ports1 x DCIN port1 x USB-C port

This mini PC is really responsive and that is down to the reasonable i3 CPU paired with the 8GB of RAM. If that wasn’t enough this HTPC features an M.2 storage solution making this ideal as a small workstation also.

This little barebones PC can also display in two 4K displays at once which isn’t too bad for such a small machine.

This can be mounted with ease on the back of a monitor and will be easily hidden if you look to use it as part of your home theatre setup in the living room.  This a solid and affordable option from AWOW that’s worth picking up.

Things you should check before buying a HTPC

HTPCs offer a unique solution to computer users. They’re light, compact, and can pack a punch.

Unlike barebone PCs, an HTPC comes prebuilt and in many cases gives you options to upgrade RAM and storage size. These upgrades can be costly but they do add a bit of flexibility to the machines.

Processor (CPU)

A lot of the time HTPCs don't feature the latest CPU and in many cases they have a mobile CPU installed. This doesn't mean they aren't fast though and it is worth knowing exactly what you plan to use your new HTPC for.

If you are looking to use this for everything from browsing the web to gaming then you are looking at an increase in your costs. For those looking at just using this as a little Microsoft Office PC or to watch some movies then you probably won't need an overly powered chip to achieve this.

HTPCs are the smallest form factor PCs going and will save you insane amounts of room. They often come VESA mountable or with a mounting bracket as standard giving you the option to attach these to the back of televisions and gaming monitors.

HTPCs will never replace gaming PCs but they are very portable and can be taken with you on holiday without taking up any room. Just be sure the CPU coolers are sufficient to keep it going.

Size and weight

Fairly self-explanatory - although HTPCs are generally portable, some are most so than others so you should pay attention to the dimensions and the weight when thinking about how easily you'll be able to carry one around before you buy it.

The HTPC case tends to be rather small and doesn't require a big power supply to work like a normal PC. The chassis needs to be small enough to be moved around easily or hidden away as long as you have enough hard drives in your system. With enough GB on your HDD, you can fit plenty of videos to watch.

Connectivity

You’ll also need to pay attention to the I/O (input and output) ports included in the model you buy since they can vary greatly. Most HTPCs should have some (if not all) of the following:

Mic and headphone jackUSB portUSB-C portLAN portHDMI/DisplayPortVESA mount

It tends to be provided by the motherboard and what it has to offer. As you still need a good option to connect your mouse and keyboard.

Final word

There you have it! These HTPCs (and one Mac) cover various needs in the home theatre area, however, it could be worth your time and money to invest in a new PC build instead seeing as you do get plenty more bang for your buck.

The specs inside this prebuilt PC are overkill for Sims 4, however, you will be able to enjoy Sims 4 and a lot of other games in 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. Alongside the stronger CPU/ GPU combination you have the perfect amount of RAM for gaming and a decent amount of storage too.

It also comes with 16GB of DDR4 and 1TB of NVMe, which does mean it has fast processing and loading overall.

This PC will go a long way and even features 16GB of RAM, meaning you can play a lot of different games in 1080p resolution. Alternatively, you could also run Sims 4 on a laptop instead.

Best all in PC for Sims 4

If you were looking at playing something more than Sims 4 on the side you'll want to consider something a bit more powerful in general. As such this Skytech Nebula is certainly a good choice to go for when it comes to performance across the board.

With an RTX 4070, you can expect to get performance even up to 4K if it is just over 60 FPS, which does also bring with it new generation features and efficiency. Even if the CPU featured is the Ryzen 5 5600X, although it is a generation old it doesn't require the new platform DDR5 to save on budget. But overall this prebuilt gives you a lot of potential for a lot of other games and applications when you're after something else.

That was never in question but for those that need a monster workstation system or perhaps a PC that can just about do everything, then this model is the ideal pick for you.

We have 2TB of fast NVMe storage here backed by a whopping 6TB HDD space. Alongside the rest of the impressive specs is 64GB of DDR5 RAM, giving you an overall workhorse of a PC fit for any task.

CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme

This RTX 4090 prebuilt from CyberPowerPC offers supreme value with all the same performance as above. Unfortunately, this is only available at Best Buy for now but considering the components inside, the price is very reasonable.

With the fastest CPU on the market, the strongest GPU in the world, 16GB of DDR5 fast RAM, and 2TB of fast storage, you have everything you need here to play any game, in any settings, no matter the refresh rate or resolution for years to come.

Empowered PC Mantis V2

At the budget end of the spectrum, the Empowered PC Mantis V2 is certainly the option to go for. With a budget under $3,000, it is the lowest option out of the lot. But it doesn't skimp out on the specs. As for the CPU, it has the 5800X3D, still one of the top gaming CPUs even though it's of the older generation, it brings down the price. Although that does limit your upgrade path, as on the AM4 platform, it has nothing better to offer and leaves you with having to upgrade the whole board at a minimum if you want to do so.

That is also the case for the RAM, it runs on the slower and older 32GB DDR4 memory. But that does also bring down the price of it and still offers a good performance with plenty of multitasking capability. Storage is a good solution too as with both a combo of NVMe and HDD, you have a good capacity and usage of both. The case does leave some to be desired, with a solid panel it can limit the airflow of the case and cooling capacity.

Is an RTX 4090 gaming PC overkill?

The answer to this question really depends on what you plan to play or do with your new PC. If you plan on playing the latest games, in 4K or higher, and want 100+ FPS, an RTX 4090 prebuilt is the gaming PC you need. If you play games like GTA 5 and CSGO, an RTX 4090 prebuilt is definitely going to be overkill, although the ridiculous FPS counts would be rather amusing.

You may just want the very best and these prebuilts not only feature the best graphics card for gaming inside but they come with the best CPU for gaming, incredibly fast RAM, and loads of storage space. These recommendations are high-priced but will serve you very well for the years ahead.

RTX 4090 prebuilt gaming PC VS building your own

We always recommend you build your own gaming PC but we understand that not everyone has the time. Building your own gaming PC is great because you can control everything that goes into it and, more importantly, it tends to offer much better value. With the RTX 4090 being a rather large beast, it has brought on a lot of power consumption and clearance questions that could intimidate new builders.

A prebuilt computer negates these issues. Convenience is the main benefit of buying a prebuilt gaming PC from manufacturers, obviously, it takes the stresses away from finding all the compatible components, while also preventing damage to said components when the time comes to build it.

Final word

An RTX 4090 prebuilt gaming PC will provide you with supreme graphical performance and more for many years. This is the pinnacle of gaming, with these prebuilts featuring flagship CPUs and GPUs. This means you can enjoy 4K gaming with Ray Tracing switched on and never have to compromise on the in-game settings.

But you should also be wary of the rest of the components that make up the chassis. Although not as important they still have a good impact on what they provide. As likes of a good motherboard and power supply can make sure it all works together well. As well consider what storage they offer with the likes of hard drive good for large and slow, but you don't want that as your boot option.

Although the RTX 4090 prebuilt might be the best choice overall, it might not quite be in the budget for you or you don't need all that power there are alternatives. Check out some of our other best-prebuilt pages below.

Best RTX 4080 prebuilts at a glance

Best overall RTX 4080 prebuilt

For the best overall RTX 4080 prebuilt, the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme gaming PC is a great option. Featuring the Intel Core i7-13700KF it has a modern CPU to match the newer Ada architecture of the RTX 4080. Which allows it to utilize Windows 11 fully with multiprocessing that the Z690 motherboard will also support.

The PC does only have 16GB of RAM although it is DDR5, which means you do get a fast modern choice. As long as you're not planning on opening too many Chrome tabs alongside your intensive games. But for storage, you get 2TB of NVMe, so with a fast and plentiful SSD you will be able to enjoy fast loading times and responsive usage.

All of which is built in a Corsair 4000D that is well built and designed. Not skimping out on the quality it does bring a good look to the system, along with a lot of RGB and fans for cooling. The CPU cooler is an AIO to keep all the temperatures in check.

Best value RTX 4080 prebuilt

A PC with the best value with the addition of the 4080, MSI has the MPG Velox desktop computer available. A well-known brand, it brings great quality and design behind it, along with plenty of power for what it has to offer. To support the graphics card, you get an Intel Core i9-10900KF CPU, and although it might be a few generations old, it's still a powerful choice at the top end of its generation. Although the platform is no longer supported, it does limit any future upgradeability.

The desktop also comes with 32GB of RAM, which is plenty for any games and applications even some work, although if that's not quite enough it will be easy to add in and upgrade to a greater number. For its storage, it is split between 512GB of NVMe and 3TB of HDD. This is a great split so you have a fast and responsive boot and a couple of games, but plenty of space for the rest.

With a Gold-rated 850W PSU, you do get an efficient power supply, that will have no issues with running with good conversion rates. Where the system might falter is the case, with a solid glass front panel, the gaps on the side might not quite cut it in terms of airflow. Although some reviewers have said they have had no thermal issues so it might not be the biggest impedance.

Best RTX 4080 prebuilt for airflow

For airflow and great cooling, the Skytech Eclipse gaming desktop is a good option to go for. With a mesh front panel, there is plenty of free flow for cooling to come through. That is also helped by the 420mm AIO radiator that is placed in front and the fans bring in the cooling air for the rest of the system as well. Altogether it means you shouldn't have much trouble with performance over time.

That massive liquid cooling keeps the Intel Core i7 13700K in check and there is plenty of performance available from it and it's on the new-gen platform that brings the efficiency for Windows 11 as well. In terms of RAM, it does also have 32GB of DDR5. Fast and part of the new generation, it is also a strong option for long-term usage.

To make sure you don't lose out on anything, it is fitted with a 1000W Gold PCIe 5 power supply. This keeps the cable management simple and safe with native support and good efficiency as well. It does also have a 1TB NVMe that gives you fast fast and plentiful storage, that can be upgraded down the line.

Best top end RTX 4080 prebuilt

Now if you have quite the budget going, you can find some great choices on the higher end with the Velztorm Praetix CTO. This PC holds nothing back and has the specs to suit the top needs of anyone especially when it comes to work as well as gaming.

With an Intel i9-13900K, you get the top flagship choice for your system to have no holdback. As a top performer, it does have a 360mm AIO to keep it cool and not throttling. That is also helped by the 64GB of DDDR5 memory, the latest generation gives great speeds and performance so you get the most out of the system.

For the storage, you get plenty of capacity and speed for it. With a 1TB NVMe, you get a fast boot drive and loading pick, but then you have a 2TB HDD for some bigger games not required to have fast loading times. With a 1000W power supply, you don't have to worry about any issues keeping it going.

The PC is also built in a Hyte Y60, a popular and well-designed case that does look great in plenty of setups. It does also feature plenty of cooling.

Best budget RTX 4080 prebuilt

For the cheapest entry for an RTX 4080 prebuilt, the Empowered PC Stratos Micro. It comes with an Intel Core i7-10700F, a lower-end option that is still a well-performing CPU. Where it loses out is in the lack of support down the line as it is now on an obsolete platform. Although it will still be a good choice for good framerates. Especially as it also comes with 32GB of DDR4 memory which is plenty sufficient for times to come even for productivity tasks.

It still gives you a good range of storage options, with both a 512GB NVMe and a 2TB HDD. That means you still have plenty of space and speed for all your games and programs without having to expand on them. It also still offers up an 850W Gold PSU, so you're not having anything too wasteful by running efficient power conversions.

The case offered is very glass heavy and so might be restrictive to your airflow. Although it does have cutouts and is full of fans that should keep your temperatures in check.

Should you buy a 4080 prebuilt or build your own?

When considering a gaming PC, we always recommend building your own as it is more cost-effective, and much more fun to do. However, not everyone has the time or knowledge to do it. As such the value might be better to just buy what's already available.

Still, there are plenty of options to pick from, with varying features as such it can be harder to choose what options to go for. As well as there is a difference in quality and variety. But with plenty of protections in place and without your own risks, it is a good alternative to get a great gaming computer.

Is a 4080 prebuilt good for 4K gaming?

The RTX 4080 is a powerful choice of GPU, and as such is capable of 4K gaming. Now a prebuilt providing good support for the card will also make sure it is capable of running at that resolution since you don't want one part throttling your ability to run games well.

What to look for in your RTX 4080 prebuilt

When comparing the various available 4080 prebuilt PCs, you will find many differences between each of the models. Therefore you need to be aware of what to look out for between each choice.

Budget

Between the various listings, you'll probably find different prices for them. These will likely offer different features and parts but you might not need all that and keeping to the budget you set is more important. There is no real recommended pricing, just the MSRP of the 4080 which is around $1,200. The rest will depend on the parts used by the build.

Cooling

Important for mitigating any performance throttling and prolonging their lifespan, you need to have sufficient cooling capabilities. If it's a full range of fans around the case that brings in the cool air for those, or making sure you're choosing a case without any impedance to it. You don't want a solid front panel but more of a mesh to allow that air to come in.

The rest of the parts

Although the 4080 might be the focus of the prebuilt, you're not going to get very far with just the GPU. As such it has to be built up with a lot of other components. What to look for here is making sure the performance and tiers match up to what the card can achieve.

For instance, you want a CPU that will not throttle the 4080, an Intel Core i3 or Ryzen 5 is likely too low down of tier to keep up with the capabilities of the 4080. Then there is making sure the power supply is sufficient in power the whole build and without causing issues, with a good efficiency rating being a bonus to look out for.

Storage is key to holding all your games and the speed at which they load. It can offer a case to responsiveness, and at this tier, you want at least a SATA SSD if not an NVMe, and you'll likely find large-capacity slow HDDs for all the games that aren't too important. RAM capacity and speed are also key for how the prebuilt handles multitasking and you should look out for 16GB at a minimum.

Final word

Looking for a great gaming PC, then the RTX 4080 prebuilt is a good choice to go for. It would last you years to come with the power behind it as long as the whole system matches up to it too. Either way, the graphics card is certainly a good choice for even 4k performance if not anything below that.

We got hands-on with the CyberPowerPC UK Infinity X135 D5 gaming PC

The Infinity X135 D5 sits towards the higher end of the mid-range bracket, featuring strong components that will deliver excellent results in 1440p. Inside we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card, a strong GPU by anyone's standard, with the ability to deliver high FPS in high resolutions and refresh rates. The card is paired with Intel’s Core i5-13400F processor, which is a highly capable multithreaded processor that will aid your overall experience.

Additionally, the system comes with 32GB of DDR5, 5200MHz RAM, and a rapid 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD. Everything comes wrapped in the impressive Lian Li Lancool 216, a highly regarded airflow PC case that will ensure temperatures remain optimal inside.

The system arrived boxed up and all the gaps inside the chassis were packed with high-density foam. As expected, it arrived completely undamaged, with all the additional bits and bobs inside, such as the motherboard manual, the extra screws, cables, and drive trays. We had to have a little peek at the back panel as we are cable management fiends here at WePC and everything was very neat and tidy, with logical routes making it easy for any future upgrades or swapouts. The system posted straight away, with no loose components or cables in sight.

We quickly jumped into a couple of our favourite games to see how this rig handles games when at the highest graphical settings in 1440p resolution. The PC performed as expected and made light work of both Days Gone and Cyberpunk 2077.

While playing Cyberpunk 2077 (ray tracing off) we saw an average of 125 FPS. The GPU never went over 70 degrees and the CPU remained at a steady around 50 degrees. In Days Gone we hit similar numbers averaging around 120 FPS with the settings maxed out. Again, the thermals remained steady, with the GPU staying under 70 degrees and the CPU below 50.

Check out our live benchmarking of the CyberPowerPC UK Infinity X135 D5 gaming PC here.

Best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC – our top picks The RTX 4060 Ti is Nvidia's latest mid-range GPU, offering reasonable performance at an affordable price, so we want to check out the very best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PCs on the market right now. There is a lot that goes into picking the best prebuilt gaming PC, but if you're looking for a fantastic mid-range prebuilt fit for the current generation, then the 4060 Ti is a good place to start.

With that in mind, we've picked out some of our favorites out there so far. Although the GPU is a newer release as part of Nvidia's 40-series, we've already seen some great prebuilt gaming PCs showing up online, so why not put them all together in one place? Even though 3060 Ti prebuilt gaming PCs continue to be a popular choice, you may want to instead opt for a new-gen choice. That being said, the RTX 4060 Ti isn't a great upgrade for those with 30-series cards, however, it does feature better efficiency and newer architecture.

Best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC : products at a glance

Best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC : in-depth reviews

Now to talk a little more about each gaming PC we've picked out. Of course, many of them share similarities as they all aim to cater to the RTX 4060 Ti, but there are some differences in specs to consider.

The RTX 4060 Ti offers fantastic 1080p gaming, with plenty of power to perform well at 1440p as well. Its new-gen architecture also enables additional features like DLSS 3.0 in supported games to push out more frames than last generations' equivalents. Let's talk about each product in detail just below.

Best RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC

We're first going to start with our most up-to-date pick. If you're going for the RTX 4060 Ti, you probably want only the latest specs in your gaming rig. This is the best way of being certain your system is future-proof, even by just a generation newer. As such, we're on a new 13th Gen Intel CPU and 16GB of DDR5 RAM. These specs, paired with the RTX 4060 Ti, offer a fantastic fresh mid-range gaming PC for 1080p and even 1440p gaming.

Not to mention it's a stylish choice too for any fans of white PC cases or, fit with RGB case lighting and a tempered glass side panel. Additional specs include the speedy 1TB NVMe SSD and the liquid cooling for the i5-13600KF CPU. CyberPowerPC also advertise the PC as being VR-ready, which definitely checks out with these kind of specs on board.

Best value RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC

So now for our best value pick. This doesn't mean it's a cheap budget PC which cuts corners though, as the popular Ryzen 5 5600X CPU is on board to compliment the RTX 4060 Ti. Both of these key components sit around the top end of the mid-range in their respective series. The 5600X is a last-gen component, but it's still more than capable for the job, and it will run cooler than the newer Ryzen 7000 series regardless.

In addition to that, you have a great storage solution with the super-quick NVMe SSD. Additional storage is always possible too, especially if you already have a hard drive full of data to install. Since this is a previous-gen CPU though, the rig is running on slightly slower DDR4 RAM - but this isn't outdated by any means, and you still get a suitable 16GB.

Best alternate RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC

For our next pick, we want talk about another great DDR4 option. This is similar to our best value pick, with one key difference being the CPU. Here we're jumping up from a 5600X to the 5700X CPU, which makes a difference if you're going to be playing more CPU-intensive games or want to use additional resources when video editing or streaming for example. For comparison, the 5700X has 8 cores / 16 threads, while the 5600X has 6 cores / 12 threads.

Again, we see all the familiar specs which are great for gaming performance, such as the lightning-fast NVMe SSD with 1TB of storage. The system also comes with a 240mm AIO cooler to keep this more powerful CPU cool, which is ideal considering the RTX 4060 Ti is also a massively efficient GPU. So, you'll be able to enjoy great performance without risk of overheating.

Can an RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC play at 1440p?

When looking at the 1440p performance of the RTX 4060 Ti, it actually performs pretty well at this higher resolution. Based on raw performance benchmarks, gamers can expect to see an average of 78 FPS in modern titles at 1440p on the 4060 Ti, as TechSpot's tests show. For optimized or competitive esports games such as Counter-Strike, then you will be able to achieve much more than this. The 4060 Ti also has the option to use DLSS 3.0 frame generation to boost your frames, although this is currently limited by the number of games that support it.

So, if you're looking for a brand-new prebuilt gaming PC capable at 1440p, these RTX 4060 Ti picks are a good budget option. If you're instead just looking to play at 1080p, then this is the perfect mid-range fit for smooth gameplay across the board.

Why should I buy a RTX 4060 Ti prebuilt gaming PC?

The RTX 4060 Ti is a great graphics card. Although its performance isn't a massive jump over the previous generation equivalent, is benefits from being more much efficient and unlocks the potential for better AI acceleration with its architecture. You may also be thinking about building your own PC from scratch, so why should you go the prebuilt route?

Well, although this is indeed an added cost when going prebuilt, everything is managed for you. You simply just have to plug in and play. Building a PC from scratch can be a difficult process for a beginner if you're unaware of compatibility or bottlenecking. Additionally, prebuilt solutions offer a professional look, neat cable management, and a hassle-free experience.

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $1500 in 2024 – our top picks If you're looking for a great new PC under a $1500 budget, then these choices may be the best ones for you. With our selection of best-prebuilt gaming PCs under $1500, we're sure to improve your gaming experience and find a PC to suit your use case.

We already recommend the best custom gaming PC for under $1500, so decided to find the five best-prebuilt alternatives available online. Of course, when buying a prebuilt computer there are going to be compromises to cover the cost of manufacturing the prebuilt. In terms of budget, you also have to consider what will be best for you and your use case. If you think you can get away with spending a little more for your needs, we have the best prebuilt under $2000, or a little less, we have the best prebuilt under $1000 for you to consider.

Now with the range of options, we keep the page updated with the latest choices so you can get the best choice for your money, mainly featuring the RTX 4070. If you don't have time to read the full article we have compiled, allowing us to condense our findings for your convenience. Our top picks are the Skytech Nebula, Skytech Shiva II, and Yeyian Shoge.

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $1500

The best gaming prebuilt under $1500 should be able to offer a respectable amount of performance for a PC at this price point. However, you do have to consider the fact that it will cost you money to get the manufacturer to build your prebuilt, meaning that's value you won't see in the components of your system.

Regardless of cost, a good PC is a PC that suits your needs and can accomplish any task you wish it to. The most important thing about shopping for a PC is that you consider your most intensive use case and build the PC around that. Do your research and look at specific components that will suit your workload.

Skytech Nebula Gaming PC Desktop

For the best choice of PC under $1500, we have the Skytech Nebula Gaming PC. At the top of the list, it combines modern hardware at a good tier with a good value getting you the best option for your money.

For its graphics card, it utilizes an RTX 4070. With the new generation of Ada architecture, it benefits from the likes of DLSS 3 and the frame generation that requires it. With that card, you can expect to achieve over 140 FPS on average at 1080p, with 1440p dropping to around 100, with 4K just around 60. That means it is a well-rounded GPU although at the highest levels, it might require some settings management. But in general, that card is probably the best value option in that series.

In terms of its processor, you do get a Ryzen 5 5600X, a very capable and good value option for gaming PCs. Therefore it is a good combination to combine with your GPU although it could potentially provide a bit of a bottleneck at low resolutions. As for its RAM, it has 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz, which might be a bit slow to get the most out of the CPU. Whilst in terms of storage it also only uses 1TB of NVMe, which might be a bit limiting when you have to install plenty of games.

It also comes with a mesh front and plenty of fans to give you a good cooling solution. Along with a lot of RGB if you're into that.

Skytech Shiva II

For the next best gaming PC under $1500, the Skytech Shiva II provides a good performance and value option. The machine provides good components at tier level, although the airflow of the machine might leave some things to be desired.

Also hosting an RTX 4070 does bring plenty of performance with it. You can expect to get good framerates across three resolutions. Along with the new generation features and efficiency of the Ada card. It is also well paired with the Ryzen 7 5700X, a good tier AM4 CPU that doesn't require the new DDR5 hardware found with the AM5 platform.

For RAM and storage, it utilizes the same as plenty other of models available. With 16GB of DDR4 running 3200MHz, and 1TB of NVMe SSD storage. Both of these should give you a responsive and fast feeling system, even if it might not be enough these days but they are easier to expand on than other parts anyway if you don't mind some DIY down the line.

Where the machine might falter is in the airflow, it doesn't have any. Although it comes with a 240mm AIO the solid front panel limits any potential cooling it could have in total.

YEYIAN Shoge

Another great machine under the $1500 mark is the Yeyian Shoge. It also comes with great components that thrive in the mid-tier. However, it is let down by the case it is in with the limited airflow allowed in it.

At this level, it also features an RTX 4070 that gives it great performance where you might need it, although the 4K might be quite limited. For the CPU it has an i5 13400F, which means you get the newest gen of hardware across the board that can unlock the full potential of your hardware. Both come with great efficiency and improvements over the previous options.

It also comes with what seems to be standard 16GB of DDR4 memory also clocked at 3200MHz, which can limit the full potential of some processors. Also featuring the fast booth drive it might be limited on the space it has provided although it still is plenty for most users so it might be for you too.

Where the system might falter is the limited cooling, the PC case has a solid front panel, and even if it has fans at the front it might be limited in how much comes in. That also can affect the CPU, as it uses just a 120mm AIO it could be a reason it throttles and limits performance eventually.

Empowered PC Continuum Micro

For something a bit different the Empowered PC Continuum provides a nice-looking case with infinity glass at the front for a great-looking machine.

As standard for the $1500 mark, it comes with an RTX 4070 for good performance with over 100 at both 1080p and 1440p, with 4K being a bit tougher. It does hold back with the CPU a bit more with a 10th gen i7, although it's still a perfectly capable gaming processor, it doesn't match up to the new-gen GPU it has. However, it shouldn't bottleneck the cards anyway.

Where the machine differs and brings some good options is the RAM and storage it uses. It ups the count to 32GB, even if it is a bit slower it does give you a lot more flexibility in what you're doing and how much at the same time. Where it also shines is the storage solutions it has, with an NVMe boot drive and option for some games, it then has an HDD for those games that you don't mind the loading times as much. This does improve your capacity overall if you don't mind the speed as much. You can also find the limitations to the airflow from the enclosed case that might hinder the cooling of your components.

Skytech Archangel

If you don't want to quite hit the top end of the budget, the Skytech Archangel brings some top power but not max it out. It brings with it a tier down of a GPU, with the RTX 4060 Ti that knocks down the expected performance of the machine. At 1080p you can expect just over 110 FPS, with 1440p around 80 FPS average, and you can't expect 4K to achieve enough for 60. Which is still a good level that is enough for many users.

For the CPU it has an i5 12400F, also turning down what tier is used and saving on the non-integrated GPU version gives a lot of value for the machine. It pairs up well with the graphics card to get the most out of them. It also has 16GB DDR4 RAM at 3200MHz, which is adequate these days and keeps it well within the budget. That is the same with the storage solution with just a 1TB NVMe that is fast and capacious even if it might run out sooner rather than later. It certainly has the airflow in mind with a mesh front panel with plenty of fans to keep it cool.

What to look for in a gaming PC under $1500?

When looking to buy yourself a new gaming PC, there are plenty of factors to consider as to what you choose from. Some features and differences vary between the desktops out there. You want to have a good balance of all the components, as otherwise, you will have a lot more bottlenecking and inefficiencies than needed.

Due to that, you want to with up the components well that work together. If the PC comes with one component too good, then something else might be amiss. Like getting a great GPU, but the CPU is several generations old and a lower tier that would impact its performance. Same for RAM and storage, making sure you get a good set of components, and ensure they work well together to void a bottleneck is essential.

$1500 Prebuilt vs Custom built gaming PC

We always recommend that you build your computer here at WePC and that is for one simple reason – value.  It is no secret that you can squeeze in better hardware for your cash when building your system, with the markup on prebuilt computers usually costing the same amount as an entire component ($100-$300). This will vary based on the manufacturer, but it will still require some investment to get your PC built for you.

Performance

While the performance of these prebuilt gaming PCs under 1500 is great, when building your own you could in theory include a better CPU or GPU into your computer without spending more. This means you could get even better performance for your hard-earned cash, get better in-game results, and future-proof your investment for longer. You can also take advantage of the second-hand market for your components, extracting further value.

Convenience

The main selling point behind a prebuilt is it saves you the hassle. We understand that not everyone knows how to build a computer and may not even have the time to learn this new skill, so the convenience of a prebuilt one makes a lot of sense. Of course, there are many more benefits to buying a prebuilt gaming PC from manufacturers it takes the stresses away from finding all the compatible components, while also preventing damage to said components when the time comes to build it.

With a prebuilt gaming PC, you are going to be able to send it back to the manufacturer if something doesn't work as intended. This is because all prebuilt manufacturers usually offer a warranty of at least one year. Furthermore, if you feel you need an upgrade, suppliers will often do this for you or at least insist you send it to them for an upgrade. This does have a caveat, however, as a lot of manufacturers use proprietary components that are not compatible with other components to make upgrading at home more difficult.

A prebuilt from the biggest manufacturers around the world isn’t just packaged nicely for you either, they normally stress test the system to ensure the components are working before shipping and that it performs as it should. You will also receive your system with software, usually with Windows and drivers pre-installed, so you can simply plug it in and start downloading games.

FAQs

Best prebuilt gaming PC under $800 in 2024 – top 5 gaming desktop PCs When it comes to the best-prebuilt gaming PC under $800, you have significantly more options over low-end hardware and no longer have to settle for low FPS or graphical settings. While a gaming PC under $800 may not compete with the high-end options, these are still brilliant for gaming in 1080p. Some hardware combinations can even handle 1440p in older titles.

It doesn't matter if you are a competitive player or love single-player AAA titles, this price category is a bit of a sweet spot and these recommendations will perform. You can also save some money by building it yourself. If that sounds interesting, go ahead and take a look at our custom PC Build.

If you don't have time to read the full article, we have outlined the Skytech Nebula as out favorite gaming PC under $800, even if it is slightly over budget. With that being said, there are many PCs on this list that still come in under budget and are ready to bring effortless value to your gaming setup.

Best prebuilt gaming PCs under $800

Spending $800 on a prebuilt is still a lot to ask, especially if you don't have a big budget to begin with. However, we feel that this is around the sweet spot of mid-tier gaming. Don't be fooled either, mid-tier does not mean mid-level performance, of course, it does depend on what you play. The most important thing to keep in mind is any PC you buy has to fit your personal use case, which means you need to consider what you want to use the PC for and find one that will fill that role perfectly. Anything more or less, and you're wasting money either way.

Skytech Nebula Gaming PC Desktop (RTX 4060)

This Skytech Nebula is absolutely the best PC for $800 right now, it might be slightly over budget, but it dominates the pack in the sense that the RTX 4060 is much better than any other GPU available in the other builds on this page. The RTX 4060 gives you the power to play games at a much higher frame rate than say the RTX 3050 for example, according to User benchmarks (as unreliable as it is) it does suggest that the 4060 is up to 60% better in some scenarios.

Pair that with the Core i3-13400F, a CPU that is also superior to the other nebula on this list. The 13400f is more than capable of handling data to be sent to the RTX 4060. In 1440P, there's almost no bottleneck to be seen, meaning the CPU and GPU are working efficiently together to achieve the best performance possible.

This PC offers 16GB of RAM, which is more than enough for modern gaming scenarios. You could probably even get away with some light workstation tasks too with this PC. The Skytech Nebula is a gaming beast. and can be used to redefine the term "mid-tier gaming".

Skytech Nebula Gaming PC (RTX 3050)

For the best offering under $800, the Skytech Nebula is a great choice to go for. With an i3-12100F you get a good GPU focused on efficiency and low budget. Without the inclusion of onboard graphics, it is a low-end option is does provide a good 1080p experience.

That is also supported by the RTX 3050 which is the best budget GPU for the Ampere range. This gives you a good entry point for the RTX range, which gives you a lot of software and benefits to take advantage of including DLSS for improved framerates. It still is only rated for 1080p however, it will provide a good experience at that level either way.

It also offers a fast NVMe for its boot and loading times. This will make it a more responsive experience helping it a much better offering. However, it is only 500GB so it might require some expansion down the line as it is a more limited capacity. In general, it is built with airflow in mind, with plenty of fans and a mesh panel, it does make sure the temps are kept under wraps.

STGAubron Gaming Desktop PC

Although it might be a bit outdated on some parts, it also has a more modern graphics card to utilize. It brings down the price of the hardware by utilizing a mix of older and outdated hardware although it doesn't compromise on all levels. So what does it have to offer for that?

Firstly it suggests it has an Intel Core i7 processor, although it doesn't specify which model in particular, the rest of the setup does give us an indication. As for the memory you get 32GB of DDR3, which is a lot but is now two generations old and slow by today's standards, although it is a great count for the price you're paying. This does mean the CPU is rather old and slow and could be a limiting factor although at this level it shouldn't be an issue.

As for the GPU, you do get an RTX 3060, the popular choice of graphics card for the budget choice. The top selection of the Steam hardware survey makes it a good option to go for entry-level gaming. Which also comes with the storage which is a 1TB SSD. That gives you a responsive and fast booting system to make sure you get a good gaming PC out of it.

ASUS ROG Strix G10DK Gaming Desktop PC

Another great choice of all-in-one is the ASUS ROG Strix G10DK. The prebuilt comes with the Aura system, so everything can be controlled with the software. This means it's all nice and in unison where you can change how it looks.

It does run a bit older hardware but it's still plenty powerful. The CPU is a great Ryzen 7 3700X, which is a great gaming card, that although might be older still is a great choice. With a speed of 3.6 GHz and up to 4.4 GHz along with a 32MB cache.

The GPU offers a bit of older hardware, but the GTX 1660 Ti is still a capable card. Although misses out on the RTX brand and features, the Turing card is still around the performance of the RTX 3050. So it is a good entry point card for good performance at the lower-end resolutions.

It also opts for the fast NVMe SSD but only 500GB so again you're likely to want to expand that with a hard drive. And the RAM is also 16GB so it is fully equipped for modern titles.

Skytech Chronos Gaming PC

The SkyTech Chronos gaming computer comes with one of the best-looking cases in the price category! Style aside, this prebuilt PC brings excellent value into the under $800 price range with no compromises on performance.

At the heart of the PC, we see the trust Intel i3-10100F which has a great single-core performance for the price. While it doesn’t stack up against the higher-performance AMD CPUs for your general computing tasks, it will serve you excellently for gaming. The CPU has been backed up with 8GB of 3000MHz RAM, bringing you a well-rounded PC.

For gaming performance, we see a GTX 1650 4G graphics card. While this card is largely considered an entry-level GPU, it still manages to smash FPS counts across most AAA titles.

The SkyTech Shadow is one of the best budget prebuilt computers currently on the market and that is largely down to its impressive price to performance. The sleek case is of high quality and illuminated by RGB lighting. So for a gaming PC that looks great and will handle your games with ease, consider the Shadow gaming PC.

Finally, rounding off the insane value of this prebuilt we see an impressive, aesthetically pleasing case, with a windowed panel and clean exterior. If you are looking to play games in high detail and not spend a fortune, then you need to grab the Skytech Blaze II immediately.

iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Computer Desktop Trace 4 9310

The iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Computer Desktop Trace 4 9310 is the perfect companion to tackle your competitive esports titles, with the affordable yet powerful CPU/GPU combination inside.

Inside we see the 3rd gen AMD Ryzen 5 3600, which is a solid all-round CPU. The single-core performance on this processor may not be as good as Intel but it runs at a base clock speed of 3.6GHz which can be boosted to 4.2GHz in the BIOS. The real strength of this processor is its multi-threading ability, with 6 cores and 12 threads, this will make light work of heavy load tasks and generally make your budget PC feel quicker.

The AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT GPU is an entry-level card but still solid for 1080p gaming and has decent benchmarking results for its price. You can play a wide range of games in high settings or enjoy high FPS counts in your favorite competitive games.

This machine features an SSD storage solution and while we would like to see more, 240GB is more than enough to hold your operating system and a couple of your favorite games. This would make an excellent PC for beginners but also suits hardcore gamers on a budget. With strong gaming features at a low price, there is nothing to lose.

What to look for in a prebuilt gaming PC under $800

When buying a gaming PC under $800, there are fewer compromises and areas to concern yourself with compared to cheaper models but you can expect older components and around 500GB of storage usually. PCs under $800 look and perform great for the price, giving everything you need for seamless 1080p gameplay.

CPU

When buying a prebuilt computer in this mid-tier bracket, you are likely to be getting older-generation processors. Don't worry though, the good news is that while these may not be the latest and greatest CPUs, they are still great for gaming! CPUs take around 30% of the load when gaming, that's not an insignificant amount so you must pay attention to the CPU when picking up a pre-built PC. Don't scrimp too much on the CPU.

GPU

As prebuilt gaming PCs under $800 fall into the mid-tier category, the graphics cards that feature are often older generation. These GPUs may struggle to play the latest AAA games in 1440p and 4K but they thrive when playing in 1080p. You can easily push high framerates in esports titles with one of these prebuilt and they will also perform well enough to enjoy your favorite single-player titles in high settings.

RAM

All our picks have at least 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which is quite common for the price. Ideally, you would want 16GB but this is one of those trade-offs compared to building this yourself. If you’re unsure how much RAM is too much, you can head over to our ”How Much RAM Do You Need for Gaming?” article to invest wisely.

Storage space

When it comes to storage space in $800 prebuilt gaming PCs, you are unlikely to get dual storage solutions but they do usually feature SSDs, these can be either the SATA variety or the NVMe SSD variety.

The SSDs included will usually be around 500GB and give you just enough room for your operating system and favorite games. If you like to store a lot of media files on your PC you may want to buy yourself an HDD to store them, saving your SSD for gaming.

Future-proofing

For $800, you may want to make some upgrades to components shortly. The list we have should give you a lot of options for an upgrade. When considering future-proofing, you will often want to prioritize a powerful CPU since most PC compatibility revolves around it.

Gaming PC under $800 vs custom

We always recommend that you build your computer here at WePC and that is for one simple reason – value.  It is no secret that you can squeeze in better hardware for your cash when building your system, with the markup on prebuilt computers usually costing the same amount as an entire component ($100-$300).

Performance

While the performance of these $800 gaming PCs is solid, when building your own you could in theory include a better CPU or GPU into your computer without spending more.

Of course, there are many more benefits to buying a prebuilt gaming PC from manufacturers it takes the stresses away from finding all the compatible components, while also preventing damage to said components when the time comes to build it.

Final thoughts

Trying to find the best prebuilt gaming PC under $800 is relatively straightforward, once you know what you are looking for. There are loads of great PCs under $800, all offering superb in-game performance and value. $800 is a strange number in this day and age, as it appears to be the lower end of the bracket that seems to bring you any value. If you ask us, anything less ends up being terrible value for money, because you still have to pay the company that built your PC to cover setup costs.

If you game in 1080p, an $8000 machine could be all you need but if you would prefer something more powerful for either higher refresh rate monitors or resolutions, then a $1000 or $1500 prebuilt gaming PC may be more suited.

What gaming PC is equivalent to Xbox Series X? The Xbox Series X is part of the newest generation of consoles reaching many gamers' living rooms. Capable of 4K gaming at 120HZ, the Series X is Microsoft's most powerful system to date but what gaming PC is equivalent to the Xbox Series X? As many may know, a console like the Series X has been incredibly well-optimized, giving buyers a 4K experience for a very low price.

The truth of the matter is, that gaming in 4K on PC is a costly affair, whether it is a prebuilt or you build your own. This is especially true if you want to hit similar 60-120 fps numbers. When comparing a PS5 and Xbox series X, the choice will often come down to game exclusives, however, comparing a PC is quite hard as the difference in price is massive.

What gaming PC is equivalent to Xbox Series X?

The Xbox Series X features a custom-made Zen 2 CPU from AMD, with 8 cores, 16 threads, and a 3.8 GHz processor. This is considered a very good CPU but it is obviously not quite the same as a desktop. In the graphics department, the Xbox Series X comes with a highly-optimized AMD RDNA 2-based processor, with 16GB GDDR6 VRAM and 12 TFLOPS.

A close match would be an RTX 3060 Ti gaming PC featuring at least a previous gen CPU.

This is as close as you can get in terms of graphic fidelity, however, you need to be aware of the limitations. There is a wide range of games that the PC above will be able to play in 4K at 60 fps, however, for others, you will have to tweak the settings as it's primarily focused on 1440p performance instead.

Otherwise, recommend going for an RTX 4070 gaming PC. It gives you quite the boost in the performance of what you're PC can achieve, whilst bringing you the latest generation of hardware to enjoy. With a leap in performance and efficiencies to enjoy along with the newest features, you can enjoy even more out of it.

What gaming PC is equivalent to PS5 & PS5 Pro: a DIY PC with equal performance The PS5 Pro has been announced at PC-level prices, costing $699. It is relatively easy to build an equivalent PC that can do so much more for this price point - and that excludes the extra cost of the stand.

Sony has gone all Apple on us and has announced the PS5 Pro at a staggering $699, when you take a look at the specs, you can see there is actually a difference in hardware but is it drastic enough to warrant such a hike in price over the standard model? We don't think so. For that money, you could build a PC that likely performs the same, and allows you to do, well, pretty much anything you want.

The only closely guarded secret of the PS5 Pro is exactly what GPU it has. Sony is boasting 67% more computing units and 28% faster memory which apparently results in 45% faster rendering compared to the standard PS5 console. The standard PS5 has 36 CUs, says TechPowerup, which is about equivalent to an RX 6700. However, leaks suggest that the new GPU could be RDNA 3-based, making it closer to a 7700XT / 7800XT.

The PS5 Pro specs

It'd be a good idea to understand the specifications of the PS5 Pro before we dive into creating a competitor PC for it, I want to dub it the PC5, but I don't know how my editor will respond to that. Anyway, let's list those PS5 Pro specs.

According to Games Radar, these are the specifications of the PS5 Pro:

ComponentSpecifications (PS5 Pro)CPUAMD Ryzen Zen 2 (8 cores, 16 threads, 3.5GHz)GPUUnknown (7700XT / 7800XT equivalent)Memory (RAM)16GB GDDR6 at 448GB/sStorage2TB SSD (5.5GB/s read)Output4K 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, 8KWiFiWiFi 7DimensionsH: 10.4cm | W: 35.8cmPrice $699.99PS5 Pro specs - Games Radar

It's worth noting that the PC we build will not be able to game at 8K. Besides, if you do have an 8k display you have enough money not to be moaning about the price of the PS5 Pro.

Building a PC equivalent to the PS5 Pro (the PC5)

We've opted for components that closely match those of the PS5 Pro, we're not able to compete with the level of optimization that console games get for that specific hardware, but we make up for it by being able to perform other tasks.

Here is the PC PS5 Pro equivalent build that we have opted for:

ComponentSpecifications (PC5)CPURyzen 5 5600GPURadeon RX 7700 XTMemory (RAM)Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB @ 3200MHzMotherboard GIGABYTE B550M K AM4StorageTEAMGROUP 1TB M.2 (R/W 5,000/4,500MB/s)Case Cooler Master MasterBox Q300LPrice$691 (subject to change)Full PS5 equivalent PC build

Note: We only managed to get this price leveraging discounts on Amazon, we tried to avoid them as much as possible, but the non-sale price of this build is up around $70. You may have to shop around to find the best deals (good practice anyway)

Here we have managed to put together a build that will have just as much power as the PS5, if not slightly more. This comes from the Zen 3 CPU, a full generation ahead of the CPU in the PS5. As we mentioned before, games are incredibly optimized for the hardware in the PS5, so we have to overshoot a little to compare.

This is obviously not the most exciting build in the world, as many areas could be improved, but generally speaking, when compared to the PS5 Pro, the PC5 does well. If you want more storage, as the PC5 only has 1TB currently, then that will have to come in the form of an upgrade. However, we have included an SSD with similar speeds.

Why have we chosen these components?

With the selection we have, well, selected, we need to explain why we have chosen these components. It appears as though we have just chosen a lot of these components for the cost value, but it's more complex than that, and we have taken a lot into consideration

GPU

As we mentioned before, a little overshoot is required to ensure the same performance on the PC as on the PS5. While the PS5 Pro can game at 4k, we can also with the help of FSR build into the 7700XT so it won't be native, but it's still achievable.

This GPU is RDNA 3-based and it has 54 compute units, which is just shy of the PS5 Pro's 60, but the 7700XT has the advantage of being a full-sized card with full-sized cooling. Overclocking is definitely an option to close the gap. If you want to know more about the 7700XT, you can check out our review of it.

CPU

As for the CPU, we've opted for something a little punchier than the Zen 2-based CPU found in the PS5 Pro. We have a 3.5GHz 6-core, 12-thread CPU that's based on the Zen 3 architecture, which offers an IPC improvement of around 19%. The PS5 Pro may be winning in terms of CPU cores, but it's not in core power.

Memory

Memory comes in at the same capacity, but nothing can beat that blistering 448GB/s peak transfer rate that GDDR6 offers. To put it into perspective, our pathetic desktop DDR4 can only manage about 25GB/s, but it'll be fine for this build.

Not even DDR5 hits speeds close to that of the PS5 Pro, it's just not that important when speaking in terms of a PC, but it looks horrifically one-sided when both speeds are placed side by side.

Storage

Ok you got us, the PS5 Pro has 2TB of storage rated at 5.5GB/s. We have chosen an M.2 SSD with 1TB rated at 5GB/s sometimes you just can't have it all. This was purely a cost sacrifice, there's no gigga brain move behind this.

I reject the idea that an extra 500mb/s peak transfer rate makes a massive difference when you're already talking about 5GB/s, after all, it's 1/10 of the speed. Nothing transfers at a constant speed it fluctuates as and when specific buffers and bandwidths are filled regardless. We're confident that you could upgrade this PC with the same M.2 that transfers at 5.5GB/s and feel very little difference.

That covers the bulk of the components that make a difference in terms of performance, now let's move on to possible upgrade paths.

Upgrade paths for future-proofing and better performance

First things first, these are optional, the PC is already equivalent to the PS5 in terms of power, exceeds in some areas even. These are just suggestions for when you want more out of your PC.

We'd first take the 5600 and change it to a 5800X3D - you're getting around the same performance in productivity workloads but the gaming performance is on par with the likes of the 12900KS. However, this is only recommended for those of you who want to stay on AM4 for a while yet. If you want a real upgrade down the line, grab a 7800X3D and move to AM5.

For the GPU, I'd say try and get a 4070 Ti or a 7900 XT, both are comparable and are a little faster than the RTX 3090. Yes, it'll cost you a pretty penny, but far worth it after a year or so of owning your PS5 Pro equivalent.

Of course, you'll need a different motherboard and set of DDR5 memory if you decide to move to AM5, but it matters less about specific models when you get to those components. Just get whatever offers you the features that you need, and that will fit your case.

If you were to build this build into the case that we have selected, with the 7800X3D, the 7900 XT, the AM5 motherboard, and DDR5, it'll cost around $1,380 but that's without any sales. The PS5 Pro alone will cost over $800 with the stand, but this PC is probably 1.5 - 1.7 X times better if we had to ballpark it. And it'll likely be able to play games 5 - 7+ years into the future.

What gaming PC is equivalent to PS5?

Before we make some suggestions, let's take a look at what is inside the PS5. The soon-to-be-superseded PS5 is still a very powerful console, featuring a custom AMD CPU based on the Zen 2 architecture. The CPU has 8 cores, 16threads, a 3.5GHz core clock, and features a 7nm lithography.

Supporting this is the GPU, an AMD processor based on the Oberon graphics processor, featuring 2304 shading units, 144 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. These are not bad specs at all, however, when trying to match it with a PC, the performance will not live up to your expectations. There are certain graphics cards required to run new games in 4K, some of which cost more than twice as much as a PS5 bundle.

Of course, you can use the prebuilt gaming PC above as a decent PS5 equivalent. However, if you aren't up to building a DIY PC, then feel free to take a look at some of the following prebuilt options. Remember though, prebuilt custom PCs come with a premium, so expect pricing to be over that of the PS5 & PS5 Pro.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, no matter what you pick, you are probably going to have a good time. Obviously, we recommend going for the PC, as we've been PC games for a long time, but long enough to know that there is value to a console, but whether that value equates to $699 is up to you.
